I just installed VUE 8, I had previously VUE 7, I noticed that VUE 8 is significatly slower in rendering. What before tooked 45 min now take 4 hours !!  I have compared the settings to VUE 7 but can´t find any difference that should cause this?

Check for displacement.  It can get turned on instead of bump in Vue 8.

Render presets hae been changed in Vue 8,for exapmpe if you used broardcast, it was faster in ue 7, because features like texure filetring and Texture anti aliasing have been added in the Vue 8 broadcast preset.

I use mostly Final and Preview to render my objects. Even in Preview rendering time is 5-6 times
slower than in VUE 7, where do I find displacement (sorry for novise question) :-)

That explains a lot. I bumped up from Vue 6 to Vue 8 and noticed that some of my renders were taking much, much longer - and of course, the estimated render time was off quite a bit. But they do look better.

I only use the last render setting (custom?) and I have the same settings as I did in Vue 7.5.  Rendering is about the same speed in Vue 8.
