Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 21 6:06 am)
Poser will use up to 2gb of memory for application space + 2gb for system space. If there isnt enough actual memory windows will page out memory to virtual memory on disk. Virtual memory has to swap to actual memory to run.
A system with a lot of open applications will tend to swap them out to disk and let the one running have most of the real memory.
Its best with Poser to close other applications where possible.
Does that answer your question ?
Quote - Be aware that Poser puts up an "allocate more memory" message when something not directly related to memory has gone wrong - such as not being able to find the geometry file when loading something from the library. What exactly was it that caused you to want more memory?
Well, im trying to render a LARGE poser scene, tried it with 3 V4 characters and it gave me that message, so i tried it with 3 A3 figures and even when using Poser 4 rendering it still gives me the memory message. i also have 27.5 gigs left on my harddrive that poser 6 is on, does that also factor into it, becuase i am also wondering if i can delete the v4 base application tahts taking up 14, 603.00 MB space

Is there anyway i can allocate more memory to Poser 6? or does it matter how many programs i have opened in the task bar that makes the difference?
