Subject: Missing Library

shorterbus ( ) posted Sat, 20 March 2010 at 1:22 AM · edited Wed, 13 November 2024 at 10:13 PM

Hi, P8, Windows 7.   Suddenly Poser cannot find my library. The library...square is there, but it is empty. I re-installed, still, same problem. Anyone have a solution? Thanks!

Old trick, delete the libraryPrefs.xml. Sometimes it helps. You can find it under c:usersyourNameAppDataRoamingPoser8.0

Jules53757, I can't find appdataroamingetc on Windows 7. I can find it on another computer (not with Poser on it), a computer with Vista. Does Windows 7 treat it differently?

That's my location on a Win 7 PC. Try a search for LibraryPrefs.xml in the folder users.

 With P8 open **Poser-Menu -> Scripts -> Python-Shell

**Type in: print poser.PrefsLocation()
**
**(and press Return)
**
**Type: **poser.ContentRootLocation()
**
to show the path where your libraries are installed.

IIRC, that appdata folder is hidden.  Go under folder options on your browser and check unhide folders.
