Subject: Circleman Give Us Some Details...

I would like to preface this by saying I am not trying to attack anyone or criticize them.  I am merely trying to help someone sell their products better.  If I come across as harsh, it's not my intention.

So there are now two products by Circleman which are almost triple the average price point in the RMP now.

http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=78553&WhatsNew=Y

Circleman, we have no idea what's in these products.  Does it come with the clothing?  Is there a list of morph injections?  Does it come with textures?  We don't know because your product has zero details in it's description.

Here is an example of a similarly priced product that let's know exactly what we get for our money.

http://market.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/index.php?ViewProduct=77003

Now don't get me wrong, the Gaia character looks awesome and it also looks very original and different from other characters in the RMP.  But you've priced the character at $36, have a $36 expansion, and you haven't told us what we're getting for our money.  Customers aren't going to be willing to part with that much money unless you give them a reason.

So give us a reason... I've looked at that product several times, but have held off buying it because I want to know exactly what I'm getting for that much.

Again, this is not meant as an attack.  I'm merely trying to point out an error in marketing.

I had similar thoughts when I saw these today also, there is very little detail in the description and no guarentee it will work in Poser either.

He couldn't show a nude render due to the under age nature of the character. He'll sell a lot of these to a certain sector regardless of his description, not being judgemental. I wonder if the kiddie porn task force were to raid your home and found her in your runtime what the consequences would be? I seem to remember a huge fuss over the original Mil Baby due to the genitals.

thefixer ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 8:00 AM

I don't know about the OP, but I was saying about the lack of information as to what is or isn't included in the pack. If it is just a character pack then it is overpriced in comparison to everything else. If it includes clothing and all the other stuff then that would be different, but it doesn't say...
Who mentioned kiddie porn, that's just sick, can't imagine why you would even mention that..!

**Kyhighlander59 that has absolutely nothing to do with what I was posting about whatsoever.  I also would love it if this thread stayed on track and don't want this to devolve into some kind of flame war against the artist who created this product or anyone else.

The readme for each item lists just an INJ/REM pose and also says Morphs++ and the Aiko 4 morphs are required too.

Sa_raneth ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 8:57 AM

says not tested in poser too and read me  only gives inj remove files  so no thanks

Laylah ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 9:19 AM

Works in poser. I have the first but eh the price makes me age process her into a teen just fine by myself. its just an INJ and REM file nothing else. She is pretty cute but with the next gen of kids coming out soonish I can not recommend spending that kind of money on a morph.

hborre ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 9:28 AM

I did the same investigation Raven undertook and came to the same conclusion.  It is just a character morph set for V4.  What is very misleading is the lack of detailed information for the product as onimusha has pointed out,, and the total disregard of application support as reported by Sa_raneth.  QC should have looked at this much more closely before allowing it on the marketplace.

kyhighlander59 ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 9:52 AM

wasn't trying to be sick, just making a comment. There is a big to do over that mess here in my area was what had my mind going that way. I knew that wasn't what you were refering to. That was just a concern I have with any character that apears to be underaged.

I appologize if I offended you, it wasn't my intent, I just use too few words sometimes to carry my meaning.

Laylah ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 12:18 PM

Here is something I did with the morph, it is not all that hard to make clothing fit to her seeing she is a dial spun morph. But yeah its nothing but an INJ and REM nothing else however as I mentioned before it works without any problems whatsoever in Poser ( Pro 2010 )

kyhighlander59 ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 12:21 PM

$36 for a dial spinner? yikes.

Laylah ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 12:26 PM

Yeah I admit to being lazy and in need for a figure just like that when I got her... however seeing the teen figure ( which I see should be an add on to the first to somehow justify half of the price ) for another 36 USD makes me think I can spin her into a teen just fine by myself and maybe even add some features to her in zbrush or something... ah well she is pretty cute.

LostinSpaceman ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 1:00 PM

Geez! QC for Freebies, when I was producing them, was tighter than this! No way should it have passed testing without a detailed description! And $36 for a Dial Spin? That's just insane, but then, there are too many too lazy people out there who will cough up the cash for something like that. I'm not one of them.

andromedakun ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 1:34 PM

I'm going to be like most others, as much as I find the character cute, 25$ is far to much for this character. If it was around 15$ (and even then, considering there are no textures that come with her), I would probably get it....

Whishlisted for now, in the hope the price goes down.

Far as I can see the description meets all the requirements.  All the necessary info is in the Readme.  Keep in mind, a product description has only to say what it contains, not what it doesn't contain.

Example - this really happened to me...

I used to work in the Customer Service dept of a "major electrical retailer" and got a call from an irate customer who bought a printer, took it home, opened the box and found there was no printer cable included.  I explained the above, then asked him if the box said "cable included" anywhere.  He said it didn't and therefore we were being dishonest.  "Okay" says me, "does it say 'elephant not included' anywhere on the box?"

Expensive, yeah but nobody's forcing anyone to buy it.

Can't be working to well, look at the hand. That's some bad jointed fingers there.

Hey if someone can get away with selling a dial sin for that price, good on them. Wait they did. LOL.

Tashar59 ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 3:45 PM

Also I will point out that it might not work right in poser because of the scaling issues that poser has but not DS. So, a good reason to say not tested in poser.

Seconded.  Though I'm not against dial sins if they are well done (and don't cost too much).

For example, one custom face morph I did here used dials to help fine tune the face and give her that appearance.  Of course, I'm not selling her either.

WARK!

Lol yeah sorry was typing with the baby on my lap.. and the cat trying to get into the babies toys on the desk when I made that render. The fingers may or may not be my fault I am going to check my saved scene. Dial sin it is though that's great.

I still like the face though its kinda cute but I am the first to agree its expensive even now that it is on sale...

EDIT: Yeah the fingers are more or less me not being careful enough while distracted. I can go back and fix it but I am a bit too busy to do so today with easter coming up etc etc.

I'm guessing those "Details" were addressed because of this thread and the one over at DAZ that was locked.

SamTherapy ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 6:17 PM

I ain't guessing anything.  I just looked at the Readme and whoa, there it was, all the info.  Amazing  :)

Yes but was it "All There" when the OP read it? As I wasn't there to look over his/her shoulders, I can but guess.

onimusha ( ) posted Fri, 02 April 2010 at 10:46 PM

The point of my post wasn't whether or not the readme was accurate.  It was really about selling your product.

Don't make me the consumer hunt for vital information about your product.  Don't leave me the consumer left wondering what I'm getting for my money.  Come out and tell me what's in your product and sell it to me.  Show me what I can do with your product.  Make me think I need your product for my next project.

If I'm left wondering, then that is instantly going to make me not click the add to cart button.

Since a ReadMe is required for each product sold in the RMP and the ReadMe must contain a list of included files, I'd say that's a yes.
