Subject: 3 questions about Bryce 5

I noticed that when I use the top slider to move along a plane lets say "z" axis it is A LOT slower then in Bryce 4... seems I have to slide my mouse 4 or 5 times across the pad just to get from one side of the screen to the other, now I know this is not the only way to move objects but its something I noticed..... Also the tree thing.. I know what an Oak looks like but when you select oak in the menu...you get something...but it isn't an oak... Just wondering if anyone else has noticed this.. Oh and one more thing, anyone noticed also when you use the sliders to decrease the size that it sits there and jiggles up and down but doesn't really want to shrink the terrain...??? Any help or insite would be great..

I haven't noticed anything slower about the sliders. If the object is way back in the scene it will take longer to slide from left to right than if it is closer to the camera and it can be maddening but that's how it's always worked. With the trees, the defaults just set you up with the trunk type and leaf. The trunks react differently to parameter changes depending on which type of trunk it is. Fiddling with branches per segment and the number of segments seems to be the most important to get the look of a certain tree. Distribution also makes a big or small difference depending on which type of tree it is (be careful to change distribution only in small steps). I'd suggest setting leaves to 0 or 1 while playing around with the tree shape in general. I ran into the resizing thing not wanting to shrink a Leo picture once...couldn't make it happen again though so don't know what it was. Spit

Sluggish is a good word... Seems really sluggish.. I understand how to make the tree look like I want..but you would think they would make it look like an "oak" and then let you remove things off instead of try to fill in. I don't know just something I noticed.. Overall I think its a very worthwhile investment..:)
