Hi.  And lastly here's the Saturn 1B that I am looking for, for use with Poser.  Once again thanks.

WandW ( ) posted Thu, 25 March 2010 at 8:17 AM

Nasa has a Saturn V that can be imported, but I don't know of any 1B's except a very mediocre Sketchup model.

Here's Nasa's model archive:

Here is the Sketchup one:

I remember a bunch of NASA related stuff over at CP, including a Saturn 5 and launch tower.  Dunno if they are still there.

Took me less time to verify there are no Saturn rockets at CP than it took you to type that post, Sam. grin

Also, the OP wrote several threads for his rocket requests. In one of them he said he already has Saturn 5.

preeder - This is why you do not post requests in separate threads. People are reading this out of context, and we all have to follow multiple threads to figure out if somebody has already helped you or not. Don't do that again.

the Saturn V he was thinking of was from Vanishing Point and was withdrawn when was bought by Rendo...

Attached Link: SaturnV

Saturn V is still available here! :) click my name and go to my store or click link above. I could easily convert the Saturnv to a saturn 1b, give me a little bit and I will see what I can do. I also replied to your other thread preeder.

preeder ( ) posted Thu, 25 March 2010 at 10:34 AM

Hi.  I am new at posting in the forums so shoot me if I got it wrong this time, or did I?  I tried to post pictures of all the items I was interesed in as part of one request but the system would not let me so I had to use more than one to get the message across.

To the person who replied saying "don't do that again" all I would say is that a PLEASE would have been nice.

bagginsbill ( ) posted Thu, 25 March 2010 at 11:22 AM

To post multiple pictures in one thread, make multiple replies, each with a picture. You did not have to create multiple threads. I would think that was obvious, since there are literally thousands of threads with multiple pictures in them.

As to why I didn't say PLEASE, it was because I was annoyed. When I'm annoyed, I express it by not saying PLEASE, or worse. By not saying PLEASE, you got my point that I was giving you an order, not a request. It may be that you don't like being ordered around by another member. That's unfortunate, because I tend to provide the more help on this forum than anybody else, and if I end up thinking you can't take a little heat once in a while, you won't get any help from me, and that costs you more than it does me.

The people who've been around here a while know me, know that I'm a cranky old bastard, and that the information I provide is well worth the grief of getting yelled at now and then.

ranman38 ( ) posted Thu, 25 March 2010 at 11:30 AM

There isn't any help I can think of that is worth being berated over a simple error in forum posting protocol.

bagginsbill ( ) posted Thu, 25 March 2010 at 11:36 AM · edited Thu, 25 March 2010 at 11:46 AM

Don't exaggerate. Nobody was berated.

Also, do you know the forum mods have repeatedly warned users not to do exactly what you're doing? Criticizing someone's phrasing or style or what emotions they convey is discouraged, and sometimes will get a warning. If you don't like how I talk because you're a more polite, forgiving, PC person than I am, that's unfortunate.

I really find these conversations about conversations extremely tedious. If you want to talk about Poser, please do.

If you want to talk about the community and style, there's a forum for that. I invite you to complain about me there. It will be fun for you, I suppose, but I won't see it since I don't hang out in the community forum to talk about the community.

Ok.  Lets try and stop this before it goes too far.  To BAGGINSBILL I would say if you see a request from me in the future just don't bother to reply PLEASE.

I think this is about my forth forum request so I am still new at it and I like to think this was a genuine error of my part and not an attempt to muck up the system.

To everyone else I would say thank you for your support - it is, as always, very much appreciated.

bagginsbill ( ) posted Thu, 25 March 2010 at 12:57 PM

snort

All this because I didn't say please. Wow.

Sure - I'll leave you in the dark.

Whoa!  Calm down everyone.

OK, so I'm not a staff member any more but please, don't all get yer panties in a bunch.  And no, I'm not pointing fingers at anyone here.

Preeder - bagginsbill is one of the nicest, most helpful people you could encounter but he tends to leave out the little niceties in conversation which makes him seem abrupt.

Ranman - See my above message to Preeder.  Nice model, btw.  And nice to see the launch tower available, too.  I'll be buying those when funds will allow.  If you're ever considering making other NASA vehicles with detailed interiors, I'd certainly be in the market for 'em.  Likewise, replica suits for the DAZ people.

BB - Easy, tiger.

BTW - for those who wonder (or care) I'm not part of the staff because my recurring health problems make it hard to guarantee I'll be here from one day to the next.  Soon as I get myself sorted out, I'll be back on the team and ready to kick ass.

I don't seem abrupt - I am abrupt. On purpose.

Not to put too fine a point on it, but I'm a consultant, a very expensive one, and time=money. I choose to help people in the Poser forum for many many hours a week because it's in my nature to do so and I enjoy it. But greed is in my nature, as well. If I used those hours to work, instead of helping people on this forum, I'd make an extra $100K to $200K a year. I'm not making that up. So - yeah - I choose to only have time to be informative. Being nice isn't important to me.

Last night I was helping people here until 2 am. When I woke up this morning at 8, first thing I did was check my ebots from this forum. I had 11. Four of them were asking for these rockets.

We can't. I actually know where there are two Saturn 1B models but I've been muzzled.

I found a Saturn 1b model here:

http://www.the3dstudio.com/product_details.aspx?id_product=64604

Not cheap, but there is an obj version that you can import into Poser. I've never bought from the site, but it's all I could find. Might also try turbosquid.com. I got some hits there but the command module looks wrong.

If ranman38 takes the time to build one, it will be worth the money.

good luck

I think you meant either:

"I tend to provide more help on this forum ..."

or

"I tend to provide the most help on this forum ..."

In any case, "the more help" is simply incorrect grammar.

Awesome work.  That tail section is really, really looking like that of a real Saturn 1B.  Again my thanks for taking this project on.

Great. I remember there being one from DeSpona (I think) at VP, but it never reapeared.

Hi.  Can confirm there is a LEM out there and it is by DeSona cos I have it and have used it.  What would be nice is if someone could create the NASA Altair Lunar Lander from the now defunct (hate having to say that) NASA Constellation Programme PLEASE.

ranman38 ( ) posted Thu, 08 April 2010 at 9:08 AM

there may be an alternate place to get the de espona stuff soon. :)

Would be grateful if you could keep me in the loop on that please.  Do we know if there are any plans for an Altair Lunar Lander from someone?
