Hey, I am having sme trouble with V4 eyelashes, they seem to lift from the eyelid but they are not. There seems to be two layers or something, I tried different eyelash trans maps but I still get the same. I know not many ppl like to do renders with the characters eyes closed....but.. Maybe bagginsbill you could create a more realistic eyelash look. The eyelashes here look too fake IMO.

I'll be back. I have a meeting now.

If you actually examine the mesh, you will find that indeed there are two distinct layers of eye lashes. Try testing with an all grey lash map and it'll be easier to see.

It would seem to me to more realistic to have layers than all the lashes in one unnatural line. That said, if you prefer them in one line, then perhaps creating your own lash map with no lashes on the "strips" sections might improve results.

Well I know natural lashes are in several rows instead of one line. What I meant was The other layers look detached from the eyelid, like they are fake cosmetic  eyelashes

I think what you see on the image is not that the lashes are detached but you see a bit skin from the bottom eyelid through the gaps in the top lashes.
A little eyeliner will fix that.

Perhaps you are right! Thanks Biscuits, I'll try that.

I think you have the eyelids closed past the point where they cross over each other. I think you're seeing the lower lash coming out (poking through) the upper eyelid.

When I close V4's eyes, I don't see what you see.

Here I've colored the upper lash black and the lower lash white.

The eye is partially closed, using the morph EyesOpen-Close = -.2.

It's pretty easy to see that the upper lash is exactly where it should be.

With EyesOpen-Close = -.5, the lashes are overlapping. I can see some white above the black.

With the morph set to -.49, instead of -.5, there is no overlapping.

Looks like they set the morph limit incorrectly.

By the way, the details in your render are very good. I don't have a texture that is that good. What texture are you using?

Here' my same-size render of the eyelashes with the morph at -.49.

I am using Lana texture over at daz 3d. She is an elite texture, she is really great! Check my gallery to see a portrait of her. Thanks Bagginsbill for your help you are the best!
