I hope this fits the theme. Well done to all so far, there's some exceptional shots here. Before I forget, can I post this pic in the galleries?

Very lovely leaf Micturn.

babuci ( ) posted Fri, 09 April 2010 at 4:18 AM

**Yes the leaf by ** **micturn is realy gorgeous and a pastel color is just enough.

Helle, lovely to see a single head separeted by its color from the group.

Nice work, helanker, and thankyou both kindly :)

MrsLubner ( ) posted Fri, 09 April 2010 at 8:17 AM

That leaf is really a great perspective and although it is small and just a bit shows, it seems to command attention.

Helle that touch of white is just what the shot needed. Wonderful.

So where is Tara?

Tara is right here, wondering why nobody answered micturn's question!  LOL!

Yes ... you can absolutely post that in your gallery.  This is only for fun back here, and there's no contest involved.

I'll start taking pictures soon, I promise!  LOL!  Bill just got back last night, and he's sure to kick my behind and get me clicking the shutter.

Thanks for answering micturn's question Tara!!! I just git to the challenge now - had a rough day!

Micturn - stunning image - simplistic yet powerful - exactly what I meant the challenge to be! And like Tara said - you can definitely upload it in your gallery!

Helle - wonderful shot! Your finger in the image somehow just lifts it to another level! Excellent!

You guys raise the bar daily!!! I better myself into gear too!!

You can all calm down now ... here's my first one!  ![](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/art/emoticons/tongue2.gif)  We went to a local cemetery on Friday afternoon and spent a lot of time looking for shots for this month's thread!  I'll see what I can do about coming up with two more.  ![](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/art/emoticons/biggrin.gif)

Oh, how nice things I saw here already!
Even if you have to go to a cemetery, Auntietk ;-)
You can better go there for taking picture's, then for  .........'everything else' :woot: !

Yesterday I went biking in the fields here.
Oh, I've make a lot of pictures, by having  so much freedom-feelings. (btw, I'm suffering of p.t.s.d.:crying:)
So going away,
makes my day,
yesterday.
🆒

What I please wont to ask. : That ladybug, was just uploaded, to ask the information from Meisiekind.

So if it could be, I would like to post, maybe tree others. Is that okay by you, then?
If not, its also okay with me.
Just feel free 😉 !
: You see.
I like the
smilies, he, he!

Have a great photo-weekend ♥
Bye then,
Mies.

Less is More, or so they say ![](http://www.renderosity.com/mod/forumpro/art/emoticons/unsure.gif)

This is one shot in Tara's nearby cemetery yesterday. There were some flat headstones but they are gone now...of course no disrespect to the occupants

Hi Carin, Auntietk was ready to go out for pics...she just was looking for company to go with her. Two photographers seem to be more motivated to get out and go than one. LOL

Time was late, late, late in the afternoon, therefore the loooooong shadow.

This is from early in the week, when I was sitting on a deck in Alabama and watching a few carpenter bees hovering nearby. Trying to get a good shot was a challenge of it's own because they never really hold still and they're too small to track with autofocus, at least not with my Rebel Xsi. Keeping manual focus on a small randomly moving target - fun! Also discovered you've got to use a really fast shutter speed because apparently their whole body moves when their wings are buzzing. I'm back home now and there don't seem to be any carpenter bees around here, but the next time I'm in Alabama I've got to try this again. It's a fun way to get to know the camera.

helanker ( ) posted Sun, 11 April 2010 at 12:21 PM

Hey there bud. You got a ...

Some of the flowers and trees around here are already in bloom, and some are just starting to get their first buds. I was out walking after dinner and kept thinking a bud all by itself might turn out interesting. Luckily (ha, ha) I just happened to have a camera with me.

MrsLubner ( ) posted Tue, 13 April 2010 at 3:16 PM

I'm going to try to help out here... Carin had an unfortunate occurrence and is without a laptop for the time being. But I won't complain..lol. I was secretly hoping to moderate the forum challenge for some time now. :-)

Tara - cemeteries are a great place for minimal shots and you certainly found a great one with the flowers.

Char! You really seem to have a delectable selection of florals (and you know how I love florals!) great minimalistic shots!

Bob, your depth of field is magic. Zooming in to refine the focus really blends the background well.

I do think we need to stir the pot though...does anyone have an idea for us to try...say a particular subject that we might be able to incorporate into this challenge?  Perhaps, with all the outdoor shots we could additionally challenge ourselves to minimalize a particular subject?

That sounds good. Does anyone what to try food in a "less is more" style?  Take a look at dinner tonight...what can you do with an intriguing presentation? And if food is not your thing, what is there around you that peeks interest with a peek? LOL

kbrog that is a wonderful green colored stone.

BobKemper wonderful flight shot in a small measure, I almost here it buzzing.

Pj mentioned food photo in a simply way, na this is my alley but I always fill up a screen, I might have a go at it to try it with less prop. Honestly I am greatly interested what others would come up with simply food photography.

I love that bud, Bob.  It is simply beautiful.

Gjeo, what a lovely landskape.

Kim , the stone is just so elegant.

Mies, that zink is just so....clean.   And a cute little bug, but I just love the bolt, lonely or not

OK, since no one is looking...teeheehee... and I'm having too much fun, I'd like to extend a FOUR Post limit instead of the three post limit to everyone. That way, I get a chance to see more, and say more and you all can have an extra shot at perfecting the art of Less Is More.

Tunde, I know food is your specialty and this might be the ultimate challenge for you because of that.  Love to see what you can do to feature food in a "less" way.

dochtersions - Those are 4 perfect examples you posted.  Each one combines different textures as well as a small feature that commands the attention.  Well done!

Wow! I love the clarity!  The shadow falls nicely to the front and that gives this a cleaner appearance with no shadow-halo. I am going to get out of bed soon and see if I can move around for awhile so I will try something "food" but I'm not very talented at it... but then, this is a challenge...
