One of these days I will be able to afford either a digital camera, or good quality scans. Until then I will just keep teasing myself.

Dont give her bad idea other like to win too...lol I dont no what your are complainning about here i look great! Maybe the original add more contrast that why you complain about the over result. But still this picture is nice ... What is the make of your scanner and wich program you use for scanning with your scanner. Maybe we could give some hint or helps...

Thanks. I'm complaining about the fact that i've reached the limit as far as scanning a 35mm negative on an old flatbed scanner w/TPU. Unsharpmask can only do so much.

I remember being frustraded like this too. When I finished school the only scanner I had available was a cheap flatbed and it never did any of my work justice. The route I took was to by a Nikon LS-2000 which I sold my soul for. My thinking at the time was that I already had my camera and lenses and the Scanner was a lot cheaper than any digi-cam I wanted. Hang in there dude the prices of neg scanners are dropping fast :)

Oh, BTW... I forgot to tell you that I think that is a fantastic image. Would love to see the real print.

wow wow wowety wow about the image. And I know how it feels not to have a decent scanner! I have a Mustek, once upon a time it was considered a good scanner but that was yonks and yonks ago.
