Subject: Photography Forum Challenge - May 2010 - "Shadows"

I am looking forward to seeing all your "Shadow" images this month. Seeing that it is spring in the Northern Hemisphere and you have more sunshine now, it would be wonderful getting out there to capture new work for this month's challenge! Alternatively you can create your own shadows by playing with light!!

AWESOME idea :-) I am looking forward to try this out.

Wow, this is a great idea!
A real challenge.

But who has actually won the challenge of April?
Or am I too premature, and too curious?
(LOL) :D

Warm greetings from Mies for everyone!.

Meisiekind ( ) posted Sat, 01 May 2010 at 1:17 PM

Thanks Helle & Mies! It is going to be great fun!

Mies - It is not a competition, just a challenge - so no winner or losers!
In fact - everyone is a winner... just by joining in and challenging themselves by going out and maybe try a different genre of photography that they haven't tried before!

Looking forward to seeing your uploads for May!!

Sorry, i did not know 'the rules'.

And now : Great fun ~ great shadow!

Wat a very stunning ones, Priscilla and Helle.
So much fun to see, what's coming out from yourselves.

Priska, that is because we in the shadows can not see all the charm texture :-)))

Meisiekind ( ) posted Sun, 02 May 2010 at 1:12 AM

Priska & Helle - I think ALL our shadows were a lot nicer 30 years ago!!!

Mies - you're welcome! Let's see "your" shadows!!!

Carin...I am in deep trouble...lol. I can not think of anything. I did some tea pot set with my flash to have a decent shadow but I did not liked it. I guess I have a 'blockout'...grr. I will try again next week.

LOL Tunde!!! I guess even the best of us get block-outs!!!
No problem - go get some inspiration!!!

Priska The shadow is of a statue of one of the big stone statues from Easter Islands. Sorry for the messy explanation

aksirp ( ) posted Sun, 02 May 2010 at 6:53 AM

oh yes, the big stones of Easter island, is correct! do you have one of them in your saloon?
wats the rules of this game? is it over now? sorry i am a beginner..

helanker ( ) posted Sun, 02 May 2010 at 8:04 AM

LOL!   Yes, last time we were in Easter Island, I stole one for a souvenier
No i just have a figure made of Plaster, I guess and painted green. I actually once began to make one myself of a gas concrete brick, but I didnt finish it.... maybe I should do that

Meisiekind ( ) posted Sun, 02 May 2010 at 8:59 AM

Priska - I love the shadow of the branch against the wall! Superb catch! As fate would have it, it is cloudy here today, so I couldn't even go out and get a shot!

Oh - and each member is allowed three uploads!!

Carin...the shadow picture of me above is similar to the one in the Wshington graveyard but this is "fresh", coming from a shoot in my front yard yesterday. I guess you didn't see the difference between Kansas and Washington green grass and that I had changed my clothes! LOL

Bill - LMAO!!!!! I am glad you have changed your clothes!!!! Hehehe...

And no, the green, green grass of home all look the same to me!!!!
Awesome nonetheless!!!

With or without sandals???

auntietk ( ) posted Tue, 04 May 2010 at 9:30 AM

Hmmmmm ... at the graveyard he was not wearing sandals, and I'm not in Kansas to see what he was wearing yesterday!  (Won't be there 'til Thursday.)  I bet if he just popped out to take a couple pictures though, he was wearing clogs.

Just a guess!  :)
