Subject: Get it level??????? How

3eighty ( ) posted Mon, 03 May 2010 at 11:32 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 12:48 PM

This is one of those thinks you hate to admit but I have a real problem getting objects level again if they get tipped.  It's my eyes or my hands but it's driving me crazy.......Is there an easy way to get the "x", "y" level?

Thanks for any help ....

In the object atributes drop down panel, "rotate" just return all axis to "0".

cheers

 Yup...that's my method .. ...

Once in a while I look around,
I see a sound
and try to write it down
Sometimes they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound
The Sun comes up again

It might also be "shear" - which sometimes happens when you rotate an object at an odd angle and resize in "World/Camera Space" mode. In the Object Attributes, under the little down arrow thingie is a "Remove Shear" option.

Nice tip dan whiteside!
Is there also a way to resize rotated objects without shearing?

Best bet would be to temporarily switch to "Object Space" under the Resize widget, resize as needed, then switch back to World Space to continue.  (Assuming you have the item selected, of course...grin  -edited-)

Here’s a little trick that works with earlier versions of Bryce and may relate to this topic…I’m using 5.5, don’t know if it still works with the latest versions. after introducing several primitives and resizing, rotating you can then hold down CTRL + ALT with the cursor over any of the little vertices until the cursor comes back as “(1)” and LMB click and the object will come back the way it was brought into the scene.
