Subject: Poser Clothing Question

nabob21 ( ) posted Fri, 07 May 2010 at 9:20 AM · edited Mon, 03 February 2025 at 10:57 PM

Hello,

I am importing a Poser character into Vue (8 and 8.5 Infinite) that is wearing a shirt with the sleeves hidden and I keep getting a shadow from the hidden part. I am not using the Poser Shader Tree and in the material editor I have set the Global Transparency for the sleeves to 100%. I cannot see the sleeves at all just their shadow on the arm of the figure and on the ground. Is there somewhere that I can turn this shadow off for the sleeves only? I am sure there must be something obvious that I am missing.

Thanks for your help.

In advanced material editor click on don't cast shadow.

Thank you Mazak that did the trick. I knew it had to be something obvious that I had missed. For some reason I don't get the helper descriptions when I put my cursor over a button so I had missed that one.

In display options you can enable tool tips, this can be very helpful sometimes.

Hi Mazak,

I have enabled the tool tips but for some reason they won't work for me in Vista Ultimate64. I used to have them with Vue 6 Infinite but when I installed Vue 7.5 Infinite, they stopped working and even re-installs don't bring them back. I had hoped that Vue 8.5 would fix the problem but that does not appear to be the case. And now that there are no more quick reference cards, it is harder to find some of the options that I don't use very frequently :-(

That is really strange :-? I use Windows7 Ultimate and it work for me very well. Maybe a graphic card issue (I use a NVidia 8800GTX). Have you reset your Vue settings to default? Report the problem to the e-on support.

Yes it is very strange. I also use NVidia cards (dual GeForce GTX280) with the latest drivers but ever since the Vue 7.5 install tool tips won't work for Vue. They will work for other programs. I did report it for Vue 7.5, but now that you mention it, I will report this again for Vue 8.5.

Thanks.
