I'm trying to make a decent looking Spider-Man to add to my gallery , and I was up until 4:30am making textures and bump maps. I know I have a few flaws in the texture as pointed out in the picture (b), but what I am trying to achieve is making the eyes look as if they bubble out a little. I got the effect by applying a displacement map only to the eyes, but then I lose the texture in the rest of the mask. when applied together in same image I have to set it to an extreme to get the eye effect and the rest doesn't match the costume. Is there any way I can layer 2  displacement maps on 1 object, or 1 displacement, and 1 bump map?

You can have one displacement map and one bump map. But I'd say it would be better to make the displacement map better. Remember white is FULL displacement, black is NO displacement. Grey is somewhere in-between. Make the lines on the costume a darker grey so they won't displace as much as the eyes :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Thank you.

Of course, I could cheat and render the eyes separately, then PhotoShop them in, but where's the fun in that lol

I used his textures as a base. I'm altering them a little bit and making my own bump / displacement maps. Changed the eyes cuz the white eyes in a render that's NOT comic / cartoony  drives me a lil crazy. But yeah, I used his work as a base. I'm not good enuf to make things from scratch yet, are you crazy lol

You could also use the morph brush and make a morph to bring the eyes out a bit.

Dude! You're a friggin' genius! I never even thought of (knew about) that. I'm working on it now, trying to get the perfect curve to it.

Thanx

Use low settings for the morph brush, its kinda touchy. Start low and turn it up till its at a comfortable level for you to work with.  You can work on one side and mirror the morph to the other side. Sometimes it needs a little touch up if the mirror does not work perfectly.

I think I am about there. I know what you mean about touchy, sheesh...
Thanks again, that was, and will be, most helpful in the future.
