Subject: Calling all UK members

Every year the Renderosity team go to Siggraph and have a marvellous time [so I'm told], getting together with various members of this fine community and having great fun for a long weekend or week....

Who from the UK would be interested in a get together somewhere central for all??
We could just meet up for a couple of days and have a few beers and swap ideas, stories or what ever.
I could organise it, no problem, find a location, get prices for a hotel with night life and entertainment, could be good, anyone game??
I'd have to provisionally book somewhere so you'd all have to stump up some cash to do that so don't reply unless you're serious about it, don't need any time wasters...

I would be interested, even I'm from Holland, the UK would be cheaper for me to travel then going to the US. We're neighbour contries, aren't we? I think the poser community in Holland is too small for such an event, but in  an european context it sounds more promising.
Good idea!

Best regards,

Bopper.

That is a great idea thefixer. I hope you can get a group together.

I hope some day to be able to go to Siggraph. Just waiting for it to head my way. :)

I was looking at going this year, but with it being on the West coast of the USA it's too expensive, if it was on the East coast I'd prolly have gone...
Next year isn't any better either, it's in Vancouver..

I'm vaguely interested. Isn't there a major 3D conference in the UK that would be viable to visit or make a presence at?

Interested here.

The VP team did it a few years ago, 1 from Ireland, 1 from the US and 2 Brits.

We all met at a musuem in London, nice central location, spent the day there and then a pub meal. Home early evening.

Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.

I live on the west coast so this will be the second time I'm going, last time had a blast. Rendo actually gave away tickets that year.

hhmmm, sounds interesting thefixer.....

where abouts in the u.k are you thinking of doing this meeting ?

Interested too, like Serene's suggestion that it could be grafted onto another 3D event, if its a major one, you might even get Rendo interested in it too
