Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Dec 23 8:11 am)
The hand-poses are made for the MALE only (afaifo - as far as I found out). So I use a lot of own hand poses for Posette and for Vicky or Michael ... It's a pain - I know - but you must make your own hand-libraries ... Perhaps I'll give away my hand-poses later on - but it seems there are some copyright-problems with them (it is simply to easy to make different hand-poses - they always look similar to some other ones hand-poses that might be copyright-protected or are for selling :-( ) and you can't bend back your finger back for 25% - hey you're not a Yoga-man it seems (lol)
I've used the standard hand poses on both male and female sccessfully with no tweaking at all. However, they don't work on Vicki and Mike, because they're made differently. Actually, they have their own hand poses, anyway, but not nearly as many as there could be. I wish there was a hand pose for gripping something. I always have to use the fist and unbend the fingers enough to wrap around a prop. Melanie
Yes - I know ... it's annoying ... btw: Did you pay the last licence fee to the Edisonheirs - 'cause you're using the power (the electrical one) they have developed ... Don't worry - maybe ... one day ... But I recently saw that some handposes (they were for sale) recently were deleted in the store exact of this reason ... :o( and so I'm just carefull ... I simply don't want any flames - that's all ...

Hi all, Just read your posts. Very interesting. My Hand poses are available at the store for both Vicky and Mike, so to a degree your information is incorrect. In addition I have updates for customers who purchase the hand poses from me. Currently have around 35 Hand poses available with another 20 under development. Plus I have a released 4 assorted hand poses available here at the Free Suff section and from my site. Feel free to download them. :)Attached Link: http://www.theattic.nl
You're talking about impossible positioning of hands. Have you ever seen Indian Dancing? Those people can bent their fingers in very strange ways you can only dream off. Atm I'm working on hand poses that can be used for Indian Dance poses. These are made for Vicky. Just wait and keep an eye on the gallery. It will be available soon for free download. Finest regards, Johnnie...It is incredible how many depend on outside resources to cater that which should be the most basic learning tool of using poser, which is posing. Learning how to structure and manipulate the elements of this software is a basic fundamental leading to eventual expertese of one prime function we would use this tool for, thus the comprehension of the advantages of so many finished settings escapes me. Basic guidance is a wonderful deal but eventually one must use a canvas without numbered blocks so that the painting becomes more original.

It seems to me that applying most of the standard hand poses that come with Poser results in one or more fingers being bent back at impossible angles. For example, if you apply "point" you find that the finger tip of the pointing finger is bent back at about .25, which I can't do IRL for sure. Why is this?
