Yes the Sircam worm is a nasty one. I got the past week 32 messages with that worm. Careful, don't gonna open any atachment that looks suspicious. This thing came as: advise.doc.com or advise.doc.lnk, or advise.doc.pif Be aware that the really nature of any file is the latest extension after the last dot. If you think that you have this bug make a scan or check at window's system directory for : scam32.exe or check your recycle bin. The gold rule to not be infected by any worm is to not open any atachment with rare extensions, as well as exe, com, lnk, pif, dll, drv, etc. Hope this information could be usefull for you. Regards Benigno "Virus" Fernandez.

Hi Virus :-) Not only with this extensions. Also a *.TXT can be a pif. Make a pi and rename it, double click it and it do not open in Editor it runs as pif!!! So be careful with txt-files too or better with ALL attachments. This one was some of this sort. Only a txt and a dat. I don,t have opened it (never do this, even the files comes from best friends), I saved it and checked it first. NAV detects this worm immedialy. Robert

Hi All, I was sent the "Virus" via an e-mail also, but my virus scan caught it and no harm was done. Should you be unlucky enough to GET it, here is a nifty little "Fix" you can download for free: http://www.antivirus.com/vinfo/virusencyclo/sircam_descrip.htm genny

I heard about this in another group too. I have a virus protector, but a very good rule is NEVER open a stranger's attachment, no matter how strongly it piques your curiosity. That's how they get you.
