I waited and waited now I have it...but, The dang thing keeps lockin up. None of my previous Bryce 4 shots will go into 5 without first removing all the 3ds or LWO imported objects...this sux those are my primary modeling tools. I'm running a 1 gig Athlon processor with 1/2 gig of ram and my swap file is over 256 megs just by opening Bryce 5...whats up with that..Has anyone else run into this crap? I saw some of the previous posts and was wondering If anyone has heard any rumors....you know a patch or something??? I like the new features but, dang..so far it's not worth the 150 bucks...

I haven't had that problem...I tried to duplicate it, but it didn't crash or lockup here. I only used 3ds files, don't have any lightwave models. But it opened and rendered fine. I have had other problems with it crashing and such...but not from old bryce files... Good Luck!!! Jared

Hell yes I'm having problems. Bryce locks up when I used 2 of my plants. I deleted them, and none of the others cause the crash. I have noticed that the more intensive the pic gets, the more likely Bryce is going to crash. I have learned to save every time I place something new into a scene. A pain, but at least when I reboot my machine, my work is still there!

Works fine on the Mac but does lock up if you import a large Texture pic or a really large model...and one particular pair of shoes!!! but I had that prob with 4, overall though I find the import better in that it looks after poser textures better. Good luck and try to keep the faith!!
