Subject: Poser 7 Face Room OBJ for V4

OK, so I've been playing/learning the Face Room in Poser 7 now, and made a pretty cool model, using the Sydney G2 as the base/start.  I see there are ways to export as an OBJ, but can I use the new head I made on V4?

Like now that I have the head OBJ, I do this, then this, then this, and then I can replace the V4 head?

...or like I see in some cases, people create PZ2's to inject into V4, though I suppose these are just made using the dials on Morph++ and saving...?

Any steps or thoughts or tut's out there?

SydneyG2 and V4 have incompatible head and body mesh, there is no way to intergrate the models without elaborate Frankenstein'ing.  And even if you accomplish this, most likey any morphing capacity will be completely lost.  Target morphs only apply to same model mesh alteration without disrupting vertecise count.  If the mesh becomes too distorted, the morph will not be applied.

BTW: There is no provision for using any DAZ model in the Face Room.

Oh well...  So much for that!  LOL

Thanks for the reply, though.  I was thinking of trying to figure out how, but thought it may be quicker to ask.  Saved me a LOT of time!

So other than the dials, what is the preferred method of  "creating" or "modfying" the V4 Head/Face?  Can it be done in Blender?

Well...a real "cheap" way I found of doing this, if you must live in Daz is to load both V4 and your morphed Sydney Character.  Hide V4Neck and Head, hide all Sydney BUT neck and head, align them up, and make Sydney a child to V4 Neck.

Of course it ain't perfect, and you have some skin texture blend and a little geometry issues at the point of connection...but if you can postwork that out, it poses and works pretty well!

I am going to refer you to a link which involves a process called Frankensteining.  Physically attaching the head of one model mesh to the body of another model mesh.  I have seen a couple of hybrids resulting from this procedure, and they looked convincing.  I never got it to work and I wasn't inclined to pursue it any further.

Sir! you are a scoundrel...using a poser head on a DEAZ figure! I suggest that flogging should be your punishment - and no less indeed
