Subject: Well my backup is corrupted

Amanodel ( ) posted Sat, 12 June 2010 at 6:38 PM · edited Thu, 09 January 2025 at 9:02 AM

I had my poser program on my netbook that seems to have gotten lost in the mail and the flashdrive that I had the back up on is apparently corrupted and nothing i had saved on that flashdrive is viable. le sigh The version of Poser i was using is discontinued to boot so... can anyone recommend somewhere a college student can pick up poser for a good deal? I really want to get back to learning the program, I had lighting down but i know i need to work on facial expressions and I was working on animation. Please any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you for your time.

No I haven't, I'll try and find it.

Daz3d.com is the place to get it.  Daz has a similar set of forums, with a new
special forum for beginners.

Why not contact SmithMicro and get a new download? Or if you bought it on CD/DVD they should still be there somewhere :)

Hope you get it fixed.

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.

I did contact them and they said it was no longer available. It was Poser 6. I got it here in fact for like 30 bucks. They said they sent out a notice but i never got one. But oh well.

If you have your serial written down, you should be able to buy an upgrade from Poser6 to Poser8?

The free version of Daz Studio will not be able to do all the things you want to learn, I think. You will end up spending money on add-ons. If you can, get an upgrade to Poser 8.

I have learned this too (the hard way): a flashdrive is not a long-term backup medium, it is only temporary storage,

I'd get the upgrade to Poser 8, but if you absolutely can't afford that, there is a vendor on eBay that has new sealed boxed copies of Poser 7 for $47.24 Buy it Now, including shipping. Search on Poser under Computers and Networking.

Whatever version you get, make sure to install all of the updates...

Poser 7 is now available for just under $50 from the Smith Micro web site for a limited time.
