I'm trying to paint a background for my new render, and it's supposed to look like satin...this is just the first few stages of my attempt at this. Does it look like satin? Any hints/tips/suggestions? This is my first time to try something like this, and I'm not sure if I'm going about it the right way. Done in PhotoShop 5.5, btw. Thanks, -Kage

In the Photoshop WOW book, there's an exhaustive tutorial on creating satin effects. It's a bear and a half, and it chews up a lot of channel space. But it's worth it if you want it to look reasonably realistic.

I'd been willing to pay $10.00 for a cloth material model that is sheet size and somewhat conforing. Obviously, Holding a sheet up in front (around) of you is what I want. Can anyone help me? Or tell me how to do it? Thanks

heyas; i did up some painted satiny sheets that came out okay, but i'm not sure i can re-create the technique. i wrote some notes on it, you can read them in my gallery. go to the figurative gallery and look for 'simon & jordan.'

heyas; i think the trick to satin sheets is the light/dark/light patterns. it's almost metallic in its way. i'm afraid i cant be much help, i sorta guessed and accident-ed my way into the sheets i painted ;)

I tried to follow the method you described in your gallery,Bloodsong...but after a few hours, I couldn't get anywhere. I'm just not very good with PhotoShop yet.

Just right click and save the picture... It is a seamless tile.. You can then use it to flood file you area..
