Why arnt there many vue models? Not enough are being submitted. If you have some of your own or what ever stop being a greedy fewl and submit them. later. Mr. Shun

I'd suggest visiting a few Vue user websites. You might be surprised at what goodies you can find. :)

Yep, there's alot of good stuff out there! And also since Vue imports so much flawlessly, one certainly need not stop at the .vob format......

Greedy fewl? I can't be accused of that...no, no. Laurie

Well Im new (to Vue) but as soon I start learning to make good materials and objects I will share them. Thanks for the link to the Vue webring, Im off to browse.

And why doesnt anyone look at my pictures?

aspirantnemo ( ) posted Fri, 03 August 2001 at 4:01 AM

Well, I'll build a little homepage soon, on which I'll probably upload those objects I make for the Getting Primitive challenge, then you could see "pure" VOB object if you like ;-) But as Mike said, import are easy and sure, so I don't really feel .VOB are so necessary for doing nice stuff. I also second the suggestion about visiting the current VUE sites, there's great stuff there! Herv ps : where are can I see your images btw?

Cybermonk ( ) posted Fri, 03 August 2001 at 9:45 AM

As to why your not geting a lot of traffic on your pictures. I just went to your gallery and you only have a thumbnail up for one image. I gather from comments that I've read that most people wont look at an image if it doesn't have a thumbnail. Its like advertising. :) As to objects to import into Vue try the Props Guild or the free stuff section here.

Thats what i thought, which is why i put it up for that. And the reason i didnt have any thumbnails is cuz i didnt know how to make them, cuz i thought you needed one of those programs, but i figured it out sooo ill be off soon to put some up. and thanks for that "tip". Mr. Shun ;)

MikeJ ( ) posted Sat, 04 August 2001 at 3:20 AM

Just remeber to leave "constrain aspect ratio" selected, lest you end up with a disproportionate thumbnail pic...........

Erik Shun ( ) posted Sat, 04 August 2001 at 8:46 AM

The what?

Varian ( ) posted Sat, 04 August 2001 at 8:52 AM

He means keep the same proportions when creating the thumbnail. Paint programs usually call it something like "constrain aspect ratio" or "use same aspect ratio" or something similar; varies with the program. :)

MikeJ ( ) posted Sat, 04 August 2001 at 8:57 AM

Painter likes to constrain. If I had written the program, it would have said, "Don't change proportions"...... ;)

I'm joining with Erik Shun, but pointing something else... OK, Vue imports really well other 3D models, so we don't "really" need VOB objects... But, what about sharing atmospheres or materials, or even complete (small) scenes ? Here's what newbies (like me) are in need of !!!

Daffy34 ( ) posted Mon, 06 August 2001 at 8:42 PM

There's my site, Guitta's site and Varian's site for a start. You could probably spend an hour or two on Varian's site alone ;). Varian's Site: http://www.varian.net/dreamview/ Guitta's Site: http://www.multimania.com/arte/ My site: http://www.lauriesvue.com Laurie

Yes !!! I already know your and other's (wonderfull) sites. I think I have steal all the great available things on them ! :-) But, why leaving the vue section so despereratly empty ? I'm not talking for you, Laurie, Guitta or Varian, but for all the others vue users. Your contribution to vue's community, thru your sites or the forums is gold for us. But I think there is a lot of vue's users that have many little things on their computer wich can be really usefull for all of us. I'm still studying vue, waiting for a french version of vue4, but I planned to upload a lot of elements of my works. I made two pics from my current scenes (have you seen them ?) and I will probably upload the chain mail, old leather and dirtied armor materials. Well... that's all...

MikeJ ( ) posted Wed, 08 August 2001 at 3:20 AM

I lost everything on MY computer, just last week. :(

Bop ( ) posted Wed, 08 August 2001 at 11:23 AM

Oh yes, MikeJ, I have seen it on the forums... I'm really sorry for you, guy ! I am really affraid 'cause my CD Recorder (is that ok ?) have died... and all my works are on my hard drive... I hope nothing will happend...
