sorry  but I just noticed ....

wow  I joined  this commnuity  on like  the same day  I started working with Poser.

I had not a clue  about  3D.

Sorry  i have not  dedicated my  full  time to  it!!!

what  with that  pesky  REAL JOB and all.

But  all in all,  I would  say  I am happy with my progress... and I still KIND OF  like Poser  even though  I am  just  about fed up  with how good I can get the lighting.

Lighting,  I think,  is  my achilles  heel  with Poser . everything always ends up  kind of toonish.

anyone got any inspirational  thoughts  about this software  and what  aspects they  have matured in? and what still  gives them trouble??

Ive been using Poser since version 5 was new, my evolution has gone from happily rendering and tweaking other peoples 3d models and publishing them in my Rendo gallery (nearly empty now) to almost exclusivly morph creation (with Poser magnets or modeling programs).

Somewhere along the way I discovered that I just couldnt render other peoples models and publish the result online, I do however still adore a good/wellcrafted model and collect them as I would a piece of art.

Most of my renders these days are ones without textures as shapes has become of more importance to me, none of them finds there way to an online gallery.

There is a beauty in stripping out all textures from a scene leaving all models in a white default state, then play with shadows and ligth to bring the shapes alive.

Pffft.  n00bs.  ;)

Now I feel positively retirement age ... 20 year re-union last week, been here 11 or 12 years (hard to tell with the domain change and all). Ahh.. for the good ol' days of poser 4..

Heh.  It's great to see someone makes me feel like a n00b.  But then, so do a few of my buddies here.  :)

well  i did not  "get myself" anything ..... per se .

but after 2  years  what  I did do for myself  was .... I resolved  to  start  rendering  girls  with  some clothing on  their bodies.

Perhaps, in  some cases, a true halmark of someone maturing......
