Subject: SP4 Reduced Resolution

There was a tutorial here on how to convert the V4 LOD 17K if you have it rigged for Poser to have the shape and rigging of M4 to create a 17K M4 Reduced Resolution. Does anyone know how to Make the V4 LOD in Poser have the shape and rigging of SP4? All this is fair use if it is only for personal use and involves figures you legally own. Few people are likely to be motivated to make such figures but with my old computer I really can only work with these reduced resolution figures and DAZ and everyone else makes out okay from it because it means I can then be a good consumer of all the add-on content.

The rigging is V4's rigging, S4 is just a morph package and some scale changes for V4.  Once you've installed and run the updater, you'll have to redo whatever steps you took to get a 17k CR2 with V4's morphs, because the updater won't write the new channels into your existing customized CR2, it only touches the DAZ-original ones.

You think I could just convert the SP4 morphs for the V4LOD and move them over to channels I create and then make a scale pose to apply? I could not figure out what exactly SP4 was... some V4 morphs and a scale pose? I saw the new character channels but not the channel that does the base SP4 morph though I did see the cr2 was pointed at the standard V4 geometry. Probably it would be better if I convert the morphs to 17K and substitute them in the existing SP4 cr2 and point that at the V4 LOD geometry to capture the scaling and rigging. Thanks.

You don't want a scale pose, it's quite a bit more complicated than that.  You want the real channels that the DAZ installer writes.  The morphs are just morphs, you would do those the same as any of the other V4 morphs, but what is more complicated is the "Proportions" dials - if you want those to work right (and imo you do, they're rather cool) then you need the ERC that is injected by the stuff in the !DAZ folder, which won't go into your modded CR2 unless the channels are there.  You can add the channels by hand I suppose but that's a whole lot of editing.  If you originally converted your morphs to the 17k mesh with Morphing Clothes imo it'd be way easier to just do it with a new CR2 that has all the channels set up already.

Yeah. Sounds like best to use the SP4 cr2 with Morphing Clothes converted morphs and the V4 17K geometry. Thanks.

The S4 and V4 CR2s use exactly the same base OBJ.  It's a bit misleading because DAZ gives you the appearance of different figures; the S4 CR2 is just the V4 CR2 with the S4 body morph and head morph dialed to 1, and the Petite proportion dial set to 1.  I wouldn't start from the S4 CR2, start with a V4 CR2 so the morphs and scales are all zeroed and you can set them to what you want after loading.
