 Just a heads up that the Beta version has been released today @ blender.org

Now a beta is more stable than an alpha, right? Or do I have that backwards?

 Well, that's that for that.

Download thingy ain't working. Tried several different types of browsers. Suspect webmaster there won't be back until Monday.

 It might be fixed now. I ended up getting it from a mirror.

 I'm impressed with Blender's Beta 2.53 release so far. I hope Blender still has compositing features in every future release. I use Blender for effects animation in my 2D animation projects too. Though I want to create original cel-shaded characters in Blender too.
