Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 24 8:11 pm)
No answers yet? O.o
Well then let me give you my idea. Bear in mind that I do not have Pose Magic so this is more of a general idea/tip.
Use the memory dots. Do the main pose, then set a dot. Pose the arms or whatever, save a partial pose, then revert to the previous pose by clicking the memory dot again
I think that will work - at least if I understand your question correctly :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Thank you TrekkieGrrrl. I'll try that next time I load up Poser. Don't know if it will work since Posemagic is a prop with a load of ERC controls but I'll try it.
Hm your description rings a bell. I think I may actually have a previous version of PoseMagic somewhere.. Will look for it and try it out :)

I'm trying to think of a solution that isn't "hack Zeroing pz2 a dozen (or more) times and re-save with different names to get the zero poses you personally want" because that's some effort and requires some out-of-poser knowledge that you may or may not have.
I guess the easiest way would be to get your pose "just about there" with PoseMagic and before you do any detail work that might not turn out after numerous dial-tweaking, just do a save on the pz3. Proceed, and if you don't like what you've done just do a good old fashioned revert, which nowadays just takes a few seconds (almost as fast as digging up your library and fishing around for the pz2 you want.)
Oh, even quicker...same process but instead of save and revert, just memorize element and restore element which there are hot-keys for. Super-speedy.
And as an extra tip, alt click on the dials turn them to zero automatically.
Very handy.

Locking the body parts you don't want affected is what you need to do. See attached link for a utility that should make life easier.Yes I think WtB is right.
I tried it with another python script in which you can lock actors, but the combination with the pose magic python isn't working.

I had thought about hack zeroing the pz2 and I might do that when I have some time. I have used the memorize-restore element technique and that works to a point but I think hacking the pz2 is time well spent in the long run.

Thanks for the tip! That's a huge time saver! I love keyboard shortcuts but I still haven't found a comprehensive list for Poser shortcuts.
thanks for the link to the python script at rdna. I've popped it into my cart. That is just what I've been looking for/hoping for.
Love esther
I aim to update it about once a month. Oh, and it's free!

I recently bought PoseMagic Pro and I love it. The problem I'm having with it is that it only comes with a pose to completely reset all the dials for it. Sometimes I'd like to zero only the legs or the hands and fingers etc. What is the best way for me to create partial poses for the PoseMagic prop?
