Just thought I would let you all know that if you don't see me online for a few days its cuz of Tropical Storm Barry. He is heading right for us. Right now he is 185 miles south of us and heading north and it supposed to hit tonight or tomorrow. They say he will be a catagory 1 hurricane by the time he hits, so that means we will get 80 mph winds and lots of rain and some tornados. I hate storms. I really mean it too. I hide in the bathroom when they come cuz I am so scared. Don't worry about us though, we are in a great place, shouldn't get flooded here and the buildings are brick, so its pretty safe. The only thing that really scares me besides the lightening is the fact that they say we will probably get lots of tornados. I hate those the most. You never know when or where they are going to hit. Thank goodness we live close to the Air Force Base and can hear their sirens go off so we can be prepared. I basically wanted to let you know just in case the power goes out or something so you all didn't think I left you!! Have a great day...Now I am off to eat some cinnamon rolls with icing..YUMMY!!! I love wild weather! Leigh, I'll switch places with you any day. Here where I live we hardly get anything extreme. I have always been fascinated by snowstorms and hurricanes and thunder and all things extreme...don't ask me why :)

Alpha, I am about 1/4 mile from the water!! We have what is called the sound and its a body of water that leads to the Gulf, well when hurricane Opal hit here all the water was pulled out of the sound and then rushed back it. They say it was a weird sight. thank goodness I wasn't here at that time or I would have been nuts. This is supposed to be a mild storm, but any storm to me isn't mild...lol Leigh, big ol' chicken!!!

jordyart how do you picture a 2*4 running into your windows at 80 to 120mph ? The most dangerous thing to do is to be looking trougth a windows when the tornados it not far where you are... If you have the chance to see it from a nearby hills say at least 3miles then it is quite a show to see passing by but not been in....lol Like almost all my wife doesnt like thunder and wind..well me i try to be safe and take picture or just sit and look !
