Is there a way to disable the connection to Content Paradise?

MacBook Pro OSX El Capitan Ver 10.11.6

No -  but I'll put that on the list of things-to-do for the next version.

Renderosity forum reply notifications are wonky. If I read a follow-up in a thread, but I don't myself reply, then notifications no longer happen AT ALL on that thread. So if I seem to be ignoring a question, that's why. (Updated September 23, 2019)

You can add things to the Poser Dev Backlog Bill?

I wrote the Poser library. Check the splash screen on startup.

I'll be working on the next iteration soon.

Ah. Nice. If I could have a wish, an API for retrieving the LOCAL value of a parameter would be a nice thing.

I have no visibility into Poser. It's a separate application. I just was hired to write the library GUI. Believe me, if I had access to the source code for the whole app, you'd see a ton more Python API functions in there.

In my work (aside from with SM where I'm not in control) I never let the UI developers call anything directly. They have to go through public API functions, all of which are visible to customers. This way it is impossible for the native UI to do something that you, as an end user, are unable to do with scripting.

BB,

If you are open to suggestions, please consider:

Right-click implementation of
Delete
Rename
Move (to another folder, whilst remember the last folder moved to in general)
If none of the above, Browse to Folder (using windows explorer or mac finder) of the current file

Be useful if the information pane showed:
.obj reference, if any
texture reference, if any

Regards,

Joe

Wasn't there a way to get rid of the CP tab back in P5?  There used to be a link in a very old thread by Ynasen over at RDNA on making P5 run more efficiently.  Problem is, any of the links in old RDNA threads are dead.

I believe in Poser 5 is all that did is hide it... did not disable anything.. just made people feel better I guess ...

You should not have any issues with Poser being able to access CP. If you are, please contact Support. The Search Function of the Library also has the option to search or not Search CP.

While I don't mind the ability to access CP. the main problem for me is..

Those tabs are smack right under the menu entries I use

And since i'm left handed but use my mouse with my right hand.. my motor skillz aren't as good as i'd like them to be...soooooo

from time to time i hit the "face room" instead of Display -  the Hair Room instead of Render..and CP instead of Scripts.

While the two first things are an easy fix, CP takes somewhat longer to load. And at least i'm using a computer that is acctually connected to the Internet.. BUT if you weren't.. I can see all things of lag and "can not find" issues.

So. while I'm not asking for a removal of CP..

Could the next version PLEASE have a little more space between the top (Windows) menu and the tabs? Pretty please?

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA

Actually from what I remember, as it was a LONG time ago, was that specifically in Poser 5 it caused stability issues for some folks when the CP room was connected as a tab or there was a performance hit.

Whatever instability that was there was resolved by Poser 6 but people did insist on hiding the room if possible.

I would love to see an option to hide that (or even other tabbed rooms) if you are not utilizing it.  However, besides the chance of clicking it because it's right under a menu, it really does no "harm" here to have it.... I just never click on it.  I like to go CP in firefox if I so choose.

At the moment, you can get rid of all of these tabs but since Poser doesn't have key shortcuts for the rooms (there is only 1 - for material room) and there is no way to make such shortcuts (yet) - it would be very stupid idea :)

I think the issue was resolved with the first Service Release... I know it was not an issue in SR3. There was a precieved issue with it, because of some security software alerts, but that was because of the Cookie for the Site (basically all it did and does is open your Browser at CP within a Frame. You had to have the Cookie to Log In.)

I call that FFS (Fat Finger Syndrome) I have it in many programs.. Lightwave is the worst for me, because everything is so close to each other... Poser seems like I have a lot of real estate when compared.... so I do not notice it in Poser...

JMO, the tabs are wasted real estate. I would rather have the room links up a menu. Increased viewing area is always a plus.
The new layout is a big improvement, but I'm just not fond of tabs.
