Subject: How do I turn off Wishlist item alerts only?

Andrew_C ( ) posted Wed, 28 July 2010 at 6:45 PM · edited Fri, 22 November 2024 at 7:02 AM

I want to turn off withlist item sale alerts as they are spamming my inbox. I want to continue receiving the newsletter. As far as I can see, I can only turn everything off including the newsletter.

The only relevant setting in my Profile I can find is this one:

Receive email newsletters, announcements,

and special offers from this site?

Which is set to "yes" at the moment

Is there a way to turn off only wishlist alerts?

You will need to remove items from your wishlist in order to stop the notifications. Part of the wishlist feature is to receive notifications when wishlist items go on sale. To remove items from your wishlist, go to the MEMBERS tab on the top navigation menu then to MY WISHLIST

Below is a direct link to your wishlist page

I reduced my wishlist down considerable to stop the numerous emails, while doing so I began to realise that not all items on my list generate an email if they go on sale which I really dont understand. It seemed to be only certain vendor's items that caused the flood of emails.

Same here....Now I just get rid of the ones that do generate the numerous emails for one item.

Removing stuff from my wishlist is not an option. I use it to keep track of interesting stuff I find on Renderosity. If I removed them, I would never find them again, the signal to noise ratio in the Marketplace is so high and the search so poor. An example, the other day, I stumbled across some wonderful Sci-Fi items items by a vendor I had not heard of, that I would have bought on the spot if I could have. The problem? They had been discontinued and judging by the lack of reviews I may have been the first person to stumble across them.

Howdy, this is just a suggestion, In the my wishlist section it would be helpful to be able to see other peoples wishlist to know what to model for them. I am a modeler but I do not play the games or belong to any online universes. So I really do not have a wishlist of things I want, but rather I am interested in what people need for their content. Right now I am just guessing at what objects to put into the Free Stuff site for people. Again, it would be nice to see what other people want modeled

Hi TaLLan52,

You can see a members Public Wishlist by going to their Home Page (link located under their member name within a forum post) and selecting the Store link from their Home Page.

The Wishlist is for items in the MarketPlace that members want to purchase in the future.

You can visit the Wishing Well forum to see model/product requests from members.
Link attached to the forum.

I hope this helps,
Clint
