Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2025 Jan 14 12:25 pm)
BOYS? You're not supposed to render BOYS! Only GIRLS will ever do in the Poserverse!
Sorry for the sarcasm, which isn't what you want L
Have you considered using some of the hair for Ben and the other native Poser figures? the hair isn't half bad, and it's easy to parent to a new figure :)

You just can't put the words "Poserites" and "happy" in the same sentence - didn't you know that? LaurieA
Using Poser since 2002. Currently at Version 11.1 - Win 10.
Duke hair can go long in the back and have hair dangling in front of the eyes. It can be short or low, over the eyes. There are a lot of possible styles.

Hiro Hair has a lot of variation with the dials.
Thank you all for the info and links, I'll check them out.
Hi TrekkieGrrrl, the animation is a kid's birthday party, and of course I do have a few girls to render in the crowd of kids, ;-) but there seems to be plenty of different hairstyles available for them, it was the boys hair I was having difficulty finding styles for that weren't similar looking. I'm actually already using Ben as a character, so I just didn't want all the kids hair looking like Ben's, and the Duke hair is very similar.
Medzinatar, I'm not great at poser yet, only three months into it, and my pc's cpu power is a bit slow, so I'm trying to cut down as much as possible, I will check it out anyhow, I like the idea of growing my own. :-)
Fibbits, tons of links there!...just what I was hoping for, all those fit the Kids 4? If so that would be great! Thanks all for taking the time to reply and helping me out. :-)

Most hair is easily rescaled and thus refit to other characters. And Poser's Morph Tool can help if something doesn't QUITE fit :)

TrekkieGrrrl, I know I've rescaled the standard poser figures adult hair to fit Ben before, just didn't know if the Daz hair works the same way. (Btw, that morph tool is confusing as hell to me, even after reading in the manual and trying it out a few times, I still can't get the hang of it, I'll stick with the dials for now until I have more time to spend with it. :-))
I've had a look at a few of the Daz cuts, and there are quite a few that looked really cool....so the adult cuts can be scaled to fit Kids4 even if K4 is not on the fit list at the bottom of the page?
Also, one of those was "Carrara" hair, will that work in Poser?
Thanks very much for all the help, much appreciated.

Yes, all of them can be scaled to fit pretty easily. It's a matter of scaling the whole figure, then scaling in x, y, z as needed. Generally it takes only a few minutes to scale.
Sometimes it's best to conform to the figure head then scale.
Other times (I usually do this) it's best to parent to the figure head so you can adjust the x, y, z position as needed. Make sure to have the head of the figure selected when adding the hair to the scene.
Hey fibbits, appreciate the tips, I've had some problems with the conforming stuff, even with clothes. There are a couple of check boxes in PoserPro2010 in the properties tab of whatever figure/prop I'm conforming. "Include morphs when conforming" ...and..."Include scales when conforming"..
Seems sometimes checking those boxes prior to conforming clothes or hair works better, sometimes it seems to have no effect or make things worse. Not sure what's up with that yet, still learning every day. :-)
Anyhow I'll get to the hair links more tomorrow as I haven't had much PC time today. Thanks again

I'm needing to create 10-12 children's characters for an animation. I have Daz's The Kids 4, but as you can see from the pic, it seems all the boy's hairstyles are the typical "Beatles" look. If I want all these kids to look different, the boys can't have all the same hairstyles. I purchased the "Duke" hair from Daz, but again, looks like the Beatles style again! Plus the morph dials don't really do anything bu make it shorter or longer, they don't really do much for totally changing the style of the cut.
Can anyone tell me where I can find hair, preferably conforming, that will give me several different styles for Kids 4 boys? I also tried but can't seem to get any of the Poser hair to conform to fit the Kids 4 either.
Any suggestions, tips, or tricks would be much appreciated, thank you!
