Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 14 9:14 am)
Figured it out. When I select Zero Figure from the figure menu in PoserPro 2010 Victoria 4.2 and Michael 4 experience neck and finger lockup.
I don't think that is a normal result, so am going to post this at DAZ and Smith Micro.
edit: Using Zero Rotations from the Joint Editor window works with no problems or joint lockup.
I am not real familiar with these products (Creature Morphs) Why is the Lock Zero and not One, and could you create a Pose to Lock and unLock (like the Lock Toes and Unlock Toes on some figures)
Just trying to think of a quick fix for little issues like this as well as trying to understand what pitfalls would occur if the Lock and Unlock were switched.

Well, the only way I know of to get to the attribute in question is to use an UnHide Dials python script. I've tested that out and by unhiding the dial in question, I can also correct the problem. In the hand it is an attribute called INVThreeFinger, and in the neck it is INVHideNeck. if it is at 0, the body part is locked, and at 1, it is unlocked.
Just exactly as RHaseltine indicated.
So I have two ways to fix the problem now, the first being just to not Zero the figure, the other to unhide these attributes and reset them to 1.
I wonder too why the lock is at 0!
i've experienced a similar problem in Poser 7. i just assumed it was one of the 3rd party scripts i installed. if i go to Scripts > Figure > Zero Figure, it locks my figure's middle and ring fingers, but not index and pinky fingers. and i've had the neck lock problem before. restoring does fix the problem, but it's annoying.
i haven't tried it on different figures, do i actually don't know if it's specific to V4 or not, let alone a particular morph set.
The problem is that two of the creature morphs, that for no neck and that for removing the middle fingers, will look weird if the joints (neck or fingers) are bent. To get around that the rotation parameters are multiplied with the applicable INV parameter, which is one on its own minus the value of the morph (three fingers or no neck), so that as the morph is turned up the rotations become more and more restricted. If the INV parameters are zeroed then the rotations get multiplied by zero, and so the joint is effectively locked.

Help!
I have V 4.2 in PoserPro 2010. Sometimes when I have applied morphs, conforming figures, and parented props, V4's neck, right middle and pinky fingers, and left middle and pinky fingers will stop working. Bend, twist, and side to side do not work, nor do the morphform Grasp options in either right or left hand.
I don't know if this is a figure or program issue, but I have the most recent V4 update (as far as I know) and PoserPro SR1.
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks.
