Having issues with the latest build of Blender (via blender.org)? Then post it here. Take note, newer builds are posted on a regular bases on GraphicAll's site.

My Issues as of 08/13/2010:

**1-**Rendering in animation (mostly with Quicktime, which I need to use) crashes the program
2-Crases accure every other time when simply loading a texture
3-I STILL can't get rid of pulled windows. It'll be great if the old Right Click > Split/Join Window was added back into the program.
4-I still can't find how to apply the MapTo's texture settings (Glob, Object, UV, Orco, Stick, Win, Nor, Refl, Stress, Tangent, Etc)
5-How do I center a mesh's center to the cursor (Center, Center New, Center Curser ?
6-What happened to the Search Bar in the Tool's Pallet?
7-The Particle Rendering (which I'm loving for the most part) no longer allows "Point Rendering." What's up with that? I used it a TON and now it's gone? Now it only allows Halo, Billboard, Group, object, Path, Line, and None. I choose "Point" in the desply options but nothing is rendered as a point.
8-What is the new mentod for creating smoke in the Beta? the 2.50 doesn't work anymore.

I use 2.49b most of the time simply because the 2.5 versions either have eliments moved where I can't find them, have them removed, or simply crashes the program. And 2.49b still gives me a menu lag issue on my PC. Apart from that, I have no real issues 2.49b.

Am I whining about it? Of course I am. They are either issues that need to be addressed, or I'm some how over-looking the features due to the new layout. I'm sure I'm not the only one with these issues. So ANY light on any of them would be of great help.

Thanks in advance.

No don't forget to post probles you're having with 2.53Beta.
This thread is focused on the released from from the Blender.org site. If GraphicAll has updated versions that address any of the issues posted, please let us know. Oh! and no Flaming, please. Thanks ^_^

Um, I kind-of think they're aware... besides, how do you define "beta software"? Or flaming? What do you hope to achieve by whingeing?

If you want a stable release, do as I've done and get 2.49b.

In your sample image, you would left click and hold the 'cross hatch' corner of the far left window and drag it over to the window you have circled in purple.

Of course, the window has to match in size, ie - dragging left to right, the height would have to match, up and down the width would have to match.

The Object Tools are located by default in the left hand column.  Clicking the Origin button will give you 3 options to choose from, that last of which is setting the Objects center to the 3D cursor position

Object Tools
    -  Origin
        -  Origin to 3D Cursor

The short cut for this pop-up menu is SHFT - CTRL - ALT - C

Texture Setting:
Mapping Tab: - Coordinates - Drop down menu to select Tangent, Stress, Reflection, Normal, Window, Sticky, Strand, UV, Generated, Object, Global.

  • Projection - Drop down menu to select Flat, Cube, Tube and Sphere.
