I've seen some great images posted here. I have an idea for one, and considering that I'm not all all familiar with Bryce, I thought I throw it out to the masses. When I was in college a friend of mine was majoring in art. One of his assignments was to demonstrate perspective and shadow. He did a pencil sketch that I thought was great. The scene showed a city skyline in the background on the horizon line. The foreground was a desert with plants, rocks etc. In the air over the city was an A-4 Skyhawk aircraft pulling up and away from the city. In the center of the city was a huge nuclear mushroom cloud, a result of as bomb the aircraft had just dropped. All the items in the foreground cast long distinct shadows as a result of the flash. As I recall he got a B on the project, the comment from the teacher was that it demonstrated the assignment but she didn't like the subject. The guy who did the original was named Jesse Evans, as far as I know he's never done commercial art work.

Gee, it's funny how certain topics seem to offend sensibilities. War is bad, but a photo of a crucifix in urine, or feces on a religious picture is OK; go figure.

Also those things are against my taste, I call that distaste!! It should be flushed down the drains! I range it in the same row as childerns-porno or do you like that too???? I would say try to get some spiritiual education and behave.

Then I admire you for your standing by your beliefs. Unfortunately not many people maintain consistency of their convictions. It was presumptious of me to assume that you might favor other forms of so called art just because you find war as a distasteful topic for art. Some people will support almost anything and call it art. And for what's it's worth I don't like child-porno either.

JanWeber, speaking as such, I haven't seen much in the way of art or renders posted here that do dignify the Bible.

There are a precious few but, they are here.

"Those who forget the past are doomed to repeat it.." Art can be a reminder of bad things that have happened, in the hopes that they will not be repeted. Omitinf a subject in art, only helps people forget about something they shouldn't...

Art has no use for education, it is more used to make things look better as that they were. So use education in history to keep people alert, not art. When art looks bad it is overseen, one turns away, if it looks nice and pretty... one says: it was not so bad.......

Art has been part of education since the first cave painting depicted how to hunt buffalow. Religious education and art have gone hand in hand. If you draw it, they will look... and if they think a little when they look than your art has made more of a difference than all the books they never read.
