It is possible by creating a ball around your light without shadow and with a proper ambient color and an ambient value of 2. This will create something that looks like a light without changing the real light inside it.

I only know about this special spot light function you have from Poser 5 and later. You take only one light, erase all others, set it really high and parent it with the face (for example) of your figure. Then you have some of these Stage light effects like in the theater. But there are tutorials in Rero for sure about this :-)

Do you mean like this? This is pure Poser 6. One point light, set to green inside and parented to a ball, which had a larger ball parented to the first ball with a glow style material.

Materials settings to follow.

Ball material. Cast shadows set to off on the ball.

Glowing material ball settings. Scale the ball to fit the glow effect to the other ball..

Raven that is fantastic, the best I've seen also!

I was going to suggest Nalif's Creating bioluminescence with P6 shader nodes? thread, maybe its still good for the Glowing material part, but yours is simple enough!

:tt2:

Yup. That's pretty much exactly what I meant. It's fantastic. I mean, just awesome. Thanks so much!

how do i get rid of the cross that shows up? anyone know?

Miss Nancy ( ) posted Wed, 25 August 2010 at 9:36 PM

no cross visible (P8). point lite has circles locator (P8).  if cross seen in preview, hide origin of obj.

Medzinatar ( ) posted Thu, 26 August 2010 at 10:31 AM

some of the older versions of Poser had a sphere called "Ball UV" (or similar) that had such spikes.  Try using other prop.

akura_ ( ) posted Thu, 26 August 2010 at 10:33 AM

 hmmmm okiee =)

markschum ( ) posted Fri, 27 August 2010 at 8:13 PM

look at the prop parameteres and see if there is a show origin box, turn it off if there is .

Then it means you have very old version of Poser.

What versions are you using?

akura_ ( ) posted Fri, 27 August 2010 at 8:56 PM

 Poser 8 laughs

If you have Poser 8, it is there However, it should not render even if you do have it visible. See if you have another ball prop

akura_ ( ) posted Fri, 27 August 2010 at 9:30 PM · edited Fri, 27 August 2010 at 9:40 PM

thank you so very much =) ummm it still showing the origin

Medzinatar ( ) posted Fri, 27 August 2010 at 9:54 PM

Did you try both ball props?  there should be two that come standard.
Also, something else, just for giggles.  Make origin visible and then on Parameters panel, change it's position and re-render.  If it is really the origin it should move in render.

found one that works thank you ^^
