Does any one now how it works. page 158 in the book discribes the buttom but in lawers double talk. ( sorry to the lawers out there) does it map the group if so where is the map located so you can put an image into it? Or does it put the uv's onto an image you already have? I thought UVMapper was an altiernative to this (Which for some reason is displacing the maps 50% to the right of the image). But reading the discription again I am beginning to wonder. Oh Well back to figuring out what I am doing wrong im UVMapper. Glas

If your prop has UVs you can map a grouped part of it from the perspective of the Camera. Which camera is most suited for this, I'm not sure.

HUH!? Never noticed, or even heard of this. Not quite sure what you meant Jeff. Does it create a new UV layout for the grouped part? If so, what do you save? (cr2, exported .obj, etc.). I bees a little confused here - Is this worth exploring? Is there anything here that can't be done in UVMapper?

I have found this feature to be difficult to control and not especially useful. Personally I stick with UV Mapper.

Yep, it creates a new UV layout for the grouped part...not a very good one though. It can be saved with the CR2 since the grouping tool embeds the regrouped part in the CR2 anyway. I remember when Poser4 first came out, sombody smart remapped the poser cat's head by importing a picture of their own cat as a background pic, positioning the head and lining it up on that pic then hit the perspective button. The photo was used right away as the texture for the cat head. -Jeff

The truth is out there ;-) Try http://www.renderosity.com/messages.ez?Form.ShowMessage=118024 It's a good supplement to UVmapper for small special areas to be mapped, but no replacement for Cox's masterpiece. Have fun.
