That doesn't surprise me. The DXF format has alot of variations, and I think Vue only reads a few of them. :(

Try this link. 3D Win is a 3D file convertor. It's shareware. You will probably be able to use it to load your DXF files into it and export out .obj or 3DS to use in Vue 3.1. I would recommend those formates over DXF any day.

And there's also this program, 3D Exploration. The demo lasts for 30 days, but the license is about $200.00 to keep using it after that. :( This program is very good though. It used to be only about $40.00 until the good people at Right Hemisphere bought it!

thanks, i'm trying crossroads , it works but gives a warning the 3ds format is old so it wont keep material. jp

If you mean that Vue is giving you that message, I don't know what the reasoning for it is, but Vue is wrong. I get that all the time after converting MAX files or PRJ files into 3DS, and materials always load, map, and render just fine. of course, Crossroads is pretty old, but if you're converting DXF files into 3DS, you aren't dealing with any materials anyway, since DXF doesn't have any UV mapping info in the format.
