Subject: Which swat team is better?

egalps1 ( ) posted Sun, 12 September 2010 at 10:39 AM · edited Tue, 19 November 2024 at 9:39 AM

Hello guys.
I m gonna buy a swat 3d model i need but i don t know which one i need exactly.
I tell you what i need.
Well i need a swat team  that it is supposed to enter to a kidnappers house and save the victim that has been kidnapped.
I don t need just textures,i need the whole pack  (model, textures)
I ve found 3 models here but i don t know which one is the appropriate for me.
Oh and one more thing.I want to buy an outfit that will suit to a figure that i have in poser so that i don t have to buy the needed figure too (i don t have enough money to spend)

Thanks

You are being rather vague as to what you want.  You haven't specified for which model the outfit will adorn nor have you provided links for us to inspect.

Ok i wasn t realy clear.
When i say that i need a swat outfit for  a model i may have i mean if thats  possible.
I have James from Poser 6 Ryan from poser 8 and SImon from 7
If there  s an outfit that would adorn to any of these models that would be good.
If not i m gonna buy the model too
Now i would say that one of those 2 would be good

For the product at the first link, you'll need the SoldierLwR_01 and SoldierLwR_02, by the same merchant here at Renderosity.

For the second, you'll need Michael 2, available at DAZ3D, but free (as all the DAZ base figures are now). Michael 2 comes with morphs but no hair or decent skin textures, so keep that in mind.

With Poser 8, it has a plugin called Wardrobe Wizard that you can use to make the LAPD SWAT gear compatible for use with James, Ryan, and Simon, though it might require some tweaking to look the best.

Thank you my friend for the reply.
Now about wardrobe wizard,i ve downloaded this http://www.renderosity.com/mod/gallery/index.php?image_id=488837&member
which is free.
Though it s very well-designed it s a female uniform.
So i was wondering if by using wardrobe wizard i could turn this to a male uniform.
Any advice?

Thanks again

Wow, I thought BVH had disappeared off the face of the earth! Good job for unearthing some of his stuff. I'd love to know where you found it, because when I try his website, it directs me to one of those "buy this site name" rip off stores.

Also, have you thought about the Peacemaker outfit from Xurge3D?
http://www.xurge3d.com/inc/sdetail/37316

There's also some textures for it in the marketplace that might fit what you need.

Hope this helps.

You might get some good results, since the outfit doesn't have much in the way of female breast definition. Unless PhilC has set up WW2 to handle that.

IIRC, the breast feature translates well from female to male, but not the other way.  Of course, the bulk of the outfit will conceal that issue.  The primary concern will be the boots, I have never had too much luck translating boot.

Hey guys.One question.
When i convert something with wardrobe wizard ,where do i save the converted one?

Thanks

xantor ( ) posted Sun, 12 September 2010 at 7:54 PM

Wardrobe wizard usually saves the clothing in a character folder with WW and  the name of the figure in the folder name, for m4 it is WW M4

I bought that and it doesn't come with the gloves.  guess I could somehow convert, as there are no M2 gloves around.

At daz, just add michael 2 to the cart as if you are buying it and check out.

EsnRedshirt ( ) posted Mon, 13 September 2010 at 10:39 AM

You may just want to use a texture map on the figure's skin for the gloves, if they won't be shown in close-up.

Work slowly with Wardrobe Wizard; I'd recommend only converting one or two items at a time, then rebooting. I suspect there's a memory leak somewhere in the code- either for WW or Poser itself. After trying an all-nighter batch conversion of some clothes, I discovered WW had crashed out with a memory error, and P8 wouldn't render. Poser/Python had used more than 2.4 GB of memory without freeing any of it up.

You will need to free register with DAZ3D first before you can purchase anything.  As Xantor mentioned, just add it to your cart, check out, then navigate to your account where you will find the download link.  Check back every Tuesday, DAZ does promote a week long freebie before it is added to their purchase catalog.  Some very nice content by well known modelers.

Vanishing Point has a SWAT texture by MrSparky for the DAZ Desert Soldier outfit for M3, D3 and the Freak.
