Subject: Is this a poser figure?

egalps1 ( ) posted Tue, 21 September 2010 at 12:54 PM · edited Thu, 14 November 2024 at 10:06 AM

Hello

I am about to buy this http://www.dexsoft-games.com/models/swat.html

I need a swat figure for poser. So i believe this is what i m looking for.
However i want to ask something very very  important.
Is this a POSER FIGURE (like James,Jessi etc)????????Or  this  can be read only by 3d studio max?
I m asking because i ve found some swat figures but they could only be open with 3d studio max.
I want this model to open with poser as a poser figure

Thanks

 Doesn't look like it:

** Available 3d model formats:**

  • » MAX (3DStudioMax)
  • » dts (Torque, with dsq animation file)
  • » B3D (BlitzBasic)
  • » DBO (DarkBasic)
  • » ms3d (Milkshape, with bones)
  • » FBX (3DStudioMax)
  • » x (DirectX)
  • » ugh (Fragmotion, with bones)
  • » dae (Collada)
  • » u3d (Ultimate Unwrap3D)

You'll probably have to rig it yourself..

you could try Michael 4 with one of his combat outfits.  you may need to customize the texture to what you're looking for

says on the page "1 rigged mesh ready to add your animations in MAX format." So I assume it;s rigged for MAX not Poser.

Xurge3d has Peacemaker and Warmonger for M4 that could be used, a bit more than the one you showed but, between the 2 sets you get a lot more variety.

Hum, the text came out almost too light to see in my previous post, here it is again.

Just a week ago i ordered exactly this stuff. However Renderosity.com doesn t seem to help.I ve done all the appropriate process, and still my order seems to be unpaid.
That s why i m looking for something else from another web site

You need to contact the market place people then. If it is your first purchase here it does take some time, but shouldn't take that long...
After your first purchase it's instantaneous...

I don't know what exactly your problem is getting your order processed but if your having trouble obtaining this model EPICI also sells through Ontarget3D.com.

The link you gave says this:

**Available 3d model formats:
**

  • » MAX (3DStudioMax)
  • » dts (Torque, with dsq animation file)
  • » B3D (BlitzBasic)
  • » DBO (DarkBasic)

  • » FBX (3DStudioMax)
  • » x (DirectX)
  • » ugh (Fragmotion, with bones)
  • » dae (Collada)
  • » u3d (Ultimate Unwrap3D)

Poser is NOT listed but the dae Collada prop would be importable as a prop but not rigged for Poser.

The model is for game engine use.  First-person-shooter type stuff.  Modders love this kind of stuff.

If you have MAX, you can make it a Poser figure I bet.

You need to buy two products though, the SWAT add-on and the original soldier model. There are also two packs of add-on animations.

They are available here from Renderosity, and from OnTarget3D, and also direct from the Epici website.

NO!

This is created in 3DSMAX.

Believable3D ( ) posted Thu, 23 September 2010 at 12:43 AM

It not relevant what program a figure was created in. I guarantee you that no major Poser figure was created in Poser. Grouped and rigged, maybe, but not modelled.

Baron Vlad Harkonnen used to have a SWAT set (for Aiko 3 I think).  Not sure where those goods are.  If you needed it for another figure you could try Wardrobe Wizard.  As I recall the clothes WERE for Aiko 3, and it was a nice set.  Maybe someone has a link for BVH's site?

Best Wishes.

PS: Should have looked it up first: there's a V3 version too.  Still not sure where or if his site is still up.
