Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 18 10:25 pm)
On something like a prop that opens and closes you're better off bringing the two pieces into Poser at their default positions and making a joint at the hinge.
Here's a tutorial on how to do it. It's for a fridge, but the principle is the same ;o).
Laurie
One of the obj files must have been rescaled at some stage. Possibly when you imported the original box into Poser you forgot to un-tick the scale option?
If the morph obj has facets (not just a point cloud), you can import it (instead of loading it as a morph), and compare it side by side with the original.
Plus Laurie is right, morphs are not good for emulating rotations. That is because morphs can only move vertices in straight lines.

I made a simple lidded box in wings. Exported it as an obj. Then I raised the lid and exported that as another obj. I imported the first obj into poser. Then I loaded the second as a morph target. The box opens perfectly but it grows 315%. I didn't rescale anything. What did I do wrong?
