Amazing mandelbox animation using Mandelbulber animation program.

www.youtube.com/watch

I wish I could make animation like this, I just dont have the math skills or computing power.

The description doesnt mention about render time for this particular animation, however one of the latest ones took 165 Hours to render, which is almost 7 days.

The person who did this animation, I think is also the author of the software.

In the documentation he recommends a Quad Core system.

I ran the program on my Single Core PC and it took about 2 minutes to render a small image, and I did a zoom and that took another 4 minutes to render.

I have no idea how he manged to create a keyframe path and do all that camera work and make it look so good, must be a lot of pre-determined calculations and planning.

That's pretty cool.

The only way it could be cooler is...
Add trees and hanging moss and other foliage, waterfalls, clouds, airships, and little people and animals running around in there. (I'm not alone in imagining that, am I? Unfortunately the average computer isn't quite there yet.)

It does resemble some kind of unusual world onto itself though. Almost like rusty ironwork girders with clumps of terrain attached and levitating in space.

Yeah Parts of it looked like a space junkyard and others some BORG (Star Trek Reference) type of thing.

pauljs..i agree with you.. would become more realistic..and more..sonething..rather than the junkyard...
