Subject: Vue xtream 8.5 on a Mac problems

ThreeDeeArt ( ) posted Sat, 09 October 2010 at 11:54 AM · edited Mon, 23 December 2024 at 1:22 PM

Hi All,
I am experiencing issues with OS X and Vue xStream 8.5 3D package. It looks like an operating error more than a software error which is why I am posting here.

I have gotten this error which basically 'breaks' the software in that I cannot complete many functions, the error is:

"The temporary dir is write protected. Vue is unable to use. Please remove write protection on temp directory (/private/tmp/keith/eon)"

I have tried to find this directory

Regards

Keith

I have OS X 10.4.9 so this may be slightly different with yours, but if you right-click the folder and select "get info" you should be able to change the "ownership & permissions" to "read & write"

if you cannot find / see the directory, you can always use "Terminal" to locate this directory and change the parameters via the Terminal.

Or if you don't know how to use Terminal, you can search google for an apple script that will unhide all the hidden folders on your system :-)

Excellent and many thanks, I used the free show hide App for hidden files, then found the folders in Finder, used the cmd/i keys to bring* up the info box then chanced the sharing permissions at the bottom :D all problems have been sorted.Thank you  for taking the time to help

Back to Vue :D

Regards

Keith
