Subject: INJ/REM Creation, hair pulling happening here! Thanks =)

Alright, here goes.  I found a fantastic tutorial for creating inj/rem files back in September from obj that had been manipulated in a program outside of poser.  I was so excited!  So I went and created the morphed obj in zbrush 3.

It worked great when I loaded it as a morph target.

I loaded up the tutorial two weeks ago when I got out of the hospital...or tried to, and it's no longer there.
In fact, I've managed to find tutorial links left and right that are just gone.  I've bought programs, spent my whole 3D budget on them lol actually.  I now have a lot of great stuff, no idea on it's use.

Can anyone direct me somewhere?  Help? I'd promise my first born, but I'm rather fond of her.

I'm extremely frustrated.  Here, I'll list the things I have that MIGHT be of help.  Who knows.
Windows 7, Poser 7, Zbrush 3
Injection Magic- Keep getting runtime error 5 when it generates, killing the program quickly.
Injection Pose Builder
Poser Tool Box
Poser Pocket Knife
Mat Pose Edit

Thank you if anyone is able to help!

Can't help with finding the tutorial, but the free  "Pozers Little Helper" (PLH)  can make INJ/REM files from a morphed OBJ file.

Thank you, it looks very interesting.  Is it only for V3?  I'm afraid my morph is with Victoria 4.2.  Okay, I'm getting lost all over again groans and seeks coffee

This one was made for Zbrush obj INJ/REM or cr2 creation. Daz figures V3, V4, etc.

PLH will work with any figure. Unfortunately it's not the most intuitive app around, you need to do a bit of configuration before you can use it. There is a learning curve, and it takes a bit of getting used to. But once you get the hang of it it is fairly quick and easy to use.

I'm looking over the file, but could you tell me where to put/use it?  I don't want to screw anything up, will come back to trying to figure things out after sleep.

I'd wish everyone sweet dreams, but most people are rising for the day or well into their day now!  So instead I'll give a thanks to those trying to help me, whether already assisting or further help given.

Night!

This script was made by svdl a while ago. It is designed to bring Zbrushed Objects back in to Poser as cr2s and as INJ pose files. At the time it did not function on my pc but,,, it shines now. P6, P7(tested) with V3, V4, M3, M4, etc

$$$Drop MorfromOBJ.py (swap .txt with .py) in poserscripts (main runtime).

From the Poser window, Export your figure zeroed. IK off. Scaling off. Eyes and teeth objects zeroed. Scaling morphs set to zero (eyesize, etc), expressions zeroed. Hands "Grasp" zeroed... It should be a classic "T" pose. Nothing but Zeros on all joints. Failing to do this will come back to haunt you. There are ways to fiddle with this but wait till you have a grasp of what is happening.

Check Weld and "include existing groups" save to a file on desktop as Welded_yourname.obj. Then export a "virgin" figure (unworked V4) or "EDIT>Restore Figure" with just "include existing" checked in export options.Save to same file as Control_yourname.obj

You can proceed to Modeling apps from here by importing the "Welded.obj". Save it back to file as Welded_A.obj...(for example)or save over.

Name as you see fit to remember...

$$$Use kawecki's free "Morpher" in Rendo freestuff to merge verts of two exported objects. This is not always necessary but it assures success.

Load Control.obj , load welded.obj,, Merge and save as Merged_yourname_.obj to that file.

Back in Poser, Use the "virgin" zeroed figure. Click on Groupng tool, up it to figure in parameter box,, now drill to File>python>poserscripts>Morph From OBJ.py and follow the prompts.

If you want thumbnails, Have your scene ready. Therwise uncheck the optionand make them later.  After its done, close file and load your cr2 into a new window to shake the deleted objects. Or Inject it into an existing cr2 with your INJ/REM.

The script takes about 30 seconds without thumbnails.

This may sound odd, but I dropped it into the folder like you said, and went so far as turning poser off and opening it.  It won't show in the scripts menu.  I went and looked, and it looks as though Poser is refusing to show half of my installed scripts.  Anyone know of a way I can fix this?

FyreLily ( ) posted Sat, 16 October 2010 at 8:23 PM

I got it to show, nevermind.  Coffee IS my friend and playing in Poser without it isn't the best idea I've had.  Trying it out now, wish me luck!

FyreLily ( ) posted Sat, 16 October 2010 at 8:57 PM

Okay, next time I'll wait to post my mistakes until I'm done making them.  Help please again.  I did zero everything, IK off, followed directions.  I get this:

Importing C:UsersLisaDesktopMine ExclusivelyDakota JayDakotaHead1.obj
Spawning props
Turning off IK for Victoria4
Setting Victoria4 to zero morph/pose
Traceback (most recent call last):
  File "C:Program Files (x86)e frontierPoser 7RuntimePythonposerScriptsMorphFromOBJ.py", line 657, in ?
    SpawnFBM(fig,morphChannel,morphName,plist,useFBM)
File "C:Program Files (x86)e frontierPoser 7RuntimePythonposerScriptsMorphFromOBJ.py", line 412, in SpawnFBM
    act=fig.ActorByInternalName(actName)
poser.error: Figure has no actor by that name

Thank you if any one can be of assistance, yet strangely I feel better about this than I did before! =)

richardson ( ) posted Sat, 16 October 2010 at 9:08 PM

This is why I don't do this..;)

I forgot a few things... In export,, you unchecked Universe in export options and rechecked "your Lisa" V4? Then unchecked its 2 global coordinates? Welded?

Then a default V4 unwelded? Then sculpted Lisa in ZBrush resaved it. Merged it?

THEN, you ran the py script and got that??? Is this what happened?

lesbentley ( ) posted Sun, 17 October 2010 at 9:39 AM

Does ZBrush not preserve the grouping in an obj file? I'm assuming that is why there are so many hoops to jump through.

richardson ( ) posted Sun, 17 October 2010 at 10:01 AM

Who knows. Not in the past. I no longer am a tester for anybody. I just make sure I get back what I export. All the hoops take but a few minutes once you have done it a few times.

This lets you use subdivide and smooth in Zb. The py script is genius. Maybe I'll post a few pics.

Here's what you should see once you get things working. All pretty self explanatory. Uncheck "create thumbnails" as it will use your current rendersettings and render your workwindow which could take some time..

FyreLily ( ) posted Tue, 19 October 2010 at 7:52 PM

Thank you all, things seem to be working and I'm comfortable with the processes.  I appreciate your help greatly and would have  responded sooner but had net issues.  Thank you again!
