Quote - I wondered where you went :) We were talking about Render Farms before you disappeared :)
Greetings, yes... render farms. Since then I have invested in an HPC cluster with the goal of doing a render farm. Unfortunately a web site I'm writing has gotten in the way. Now with it nearly finished suddenly I get a phone call from an old business contact with a very nice opportunity. The next day the six core is set up, etc, and just very little chance to mess with the render farm idea. Well... until this project, that is. So now I have Bryce 7 Pro, but it looks like Lightning is still the same.
Anyway, how you been?

We have no choice,Bryce is for life!
Congrats! (belated) on your marriage.
Cheers! Jed.
Thanks! I remember you also vanished for a while then returned, and with some awesome ships in the freebie section. Isn't there some sort of saying that states we return to the things most important to us? If there isn't one then there ought to be. :-)

@ DaM...sounds to me like you're running a BETA vesion and that may be the answer to your query in the Bryce speed post you made...the final I believe had some serious changes made that sped it up quite a bit IIRC.. ...and yes Lightning is still a part of the full package.. ...
Once
in a while I look around,
I see
a sound
and
try to write it down
Sometimes
they come out very soft
Tinkling light sound

Howdy all! Just wanted to say I am back, and also back rendering in Bryce. It's been like.. what.. since 2007 or 2006? Got married, traveled the world, got into photography for a bit. About a week ago a new project came my way and I find myself suddenly back into Bryce. Spent a few days building a new system--6 core now, solid state disks, etc, 42" LCD/LED--located nearly all my old Bryce renderings (except the year 2006 renders which were my best.) It is amazing how much test renders I had done just to do one good one.I'm completely out of touch with Bryce except that I heard Bryce 7 was somewhat recently released. I was able to download something a few months ago but haven't given it a spin yet. Doing a render in Bryce 6 right now and it's still taking it's time. Is B7 any faster? Does Bryce Lightning still exist? Does it support multiple cores? I better stop clacking away on this keyboard and go find out! But anyway I'm back.--Death_at_Midnight
