Subject: Nvidia Drivers....nothing stable for Poser since April?

For me, this is now the second time I've had to roll back drivers for my 8400 series GeForce card.  Keep getting "Driver Failed" messages as the computer has a minor seizure with the newer releases.

Anyone else?

I'm using a GeForce 8600 GT with the very latest drivers - GeForce/Ion driver Release 260.89.

No problems here.  I'm on XP Pro by the way.

I upgraded to 260.89 about a month ago.  It was the third update I've done since July. No problems with any of the previous versions.  My card is not the same as yours, it is a GTX-260 and system is WinXP64.

When does this message pop up? When starting Poser or when rendering?

Usually when rotating a camera...Poser Pro 2010 or 3dsmax...I'm on Windows 7 64.

Since it happens un-related app's, it would seem to a Microsoft problem.  I have heard some people complain about weirdness when the are using "Aero" with Windows 7 (I don't have it and not sure how you turn it off).

Another thing to check would be changing Max drivers to D3D instead of OpenGL and see if that changes things on Max side.

I was going to order the 9800 GT in my new system. Now I don't know what to order. I have Vue, so it needs to be compatible.

Most of the time it's fine, just every so often it throws one, usually when viewing video. Hasn't happened while using any 3D apps yet [Poser, Vue, CS5]

Good to know that.
