Yes Kort, lots of things that rang a bell somewhere deep down in the back of my head...
That last sentence:
"I just hope that somewhere out there, parents are sitting next to their children teaching them how to use Photoshop for the very first time."
Nowadays it's the children teaching the parents mostly...

As a person who used to develop all of his own prints, I don't miss it at all! I much prefer shooting in digital, and having amazing programs like photoshop and the like to post process with only adds to the fun IMHO. Working with chemicals in the old days was just plain hard work. I think anyone reading this article and thinking about all the stuff they miss from 'the old days' needs to remember all the amazing things they have gained in the digital age!
I started digital - i'm now exploring film so going the other way to most people. I developed my first film 2 weeks ago and it was a small bit of magic right there in my kitchen! Already got my eyes set on what other types of film i can try out in either my pinhole or my box-brownie :) Looking at some 50 ASA film for the f'133 pinhole, and then whack my 10 stop filter on it for a day-long photo - see what comes out of it... hehe
Anyway - i should be able to share what I managed soon, once i get a scanner which can do the 120 negs justice :)

I miss the playing around in the darkroom, especially like watching the print appear.
But I don't miss the cost and hassles of film. Sometimes in unintended ways, once I lived in a single room of a shared house and by accident knocked over chemicals. A few days later there a massive female scream,
the landlord came hurtling up the stairs demanding to know what the hell we where doing, as blood was dripping down the hallway walls!!
Turned out the chemicals had leaked through the floor, reacted with something and it looked like blood. Got banned from developing in the house and had to repaint the hallway :(
Pinky - you left the lens cap of your mind on again.
Quote - Does anyone miss the dust, the scratches, the moisture stains or the fingerprints on the negatives..?
Sometimes. They do give an authentic feel to certain images.

A well done article, IMHO.
And I "miss" many of the same things. How about you?
