Hello

I'm just giving people a "heads up" about the soon to be released open source video editor from EditShare.

Here's a news blurb about it: LightWorks News

It looks very interesting..

take care

Was just reading the specs and it looks pretty robust.

I've been using Premire 5, for a long time...which is good but is pretty out-dated.

I've tried Avid's "Pinnacle" recently, but it weighs too much, and not very flexsible.

Usually I'm wrong. But to be effective and efficient, I don't need to be correct or accurate.

visit www.aRtBeeWeb.nl (works) or Missing Manuals (tutorials & reviews) - both need an update though

Is it Windows or Mac? I can't tell from their site.

Like the others, I did likewise.  Thanks for the info.

wintel apps will run on macs, but mac apps won't run on wintel machines, therefore I predict it's a windows app.

According to the news item "Initially, Lightworks will run on Windows XP or newer (both 32 and 64-bit versions). The community hopes to have a Linux port ready to go by late 2011".

I couldn't find anything about Mac compatibility

I thought I bump this to inform interested parties that it's live in Public Beta.  I didn't get any notifications on anything by email until I went to said website.

Check it out here (You'll need to register to try it out).

Have a nice one.

Thanks for this. I had registered and was waiting for the conformation that it was up and ready to go. Like others I didn't get one but I have just downloaded the beta and looks good so far
