Subject: Applying Fonts in Photoshop

Steeleyes101 ( ) posted Sat, 13 November 2010 at 1:30 PM · edited Thu, 28 November 2024 at 9:50 PM

Hello all; Its Sat. and hopeing all are enjoying your weekend and that someone is home to answer my question... lol

Listen Im trying to do two things here.

First I would like to know how to apply large fonts in Photoshop.   I can apply fonts useing the Type Tool, but even when I set the type size to 72pt's its still not very large.

I am trying to add font to a picture Im working on in Poser; I want to get the look and feel of an old advertisement from the 40's and need larger font face.  Can someone please give me some simple instrs. as to how I can do this please?

Also Im useing Windows 7 which comes with a simple font called Andalus, but for some reason it does not show up when searching for it in Photoshop.   Is this because some fonts just dont work in Photoshop?

Thanks much for your help

Elliot

i dont quite understand what you want ..

i ahve 1500 + fonts in Photoshop /windows and they all work and i can make them 500Pt if i want ..so ...

Maybe you have some wicked strange type font .. but 99,999% of what o have and find on fonts work ..

Maybe you use a MAC font ..

Hey Bar-Code I figured it out.

There is a little T and a big T to the left of the font size number and all I have to do is put my mouse over it and drag.  It then changes the font size so that I can go larger then the biggest number in the window which for me is 72pt's.

I would like to ask one more question please.   Do you know where I can find a font that looks like the word Cuba on the following link?   http://images.search.yahoo.com/images/view?back=http%3A%2F%2Fimages.search.yahoo.com%2Fsearch%2Fimages%3F_adv_prop%3Dimage%26b%3D91%26ni%3D18%26va%3Dpan%2Bamerican%2Bairline%2Bposters%26xargs%3D0%26pstart%3D1%26fr%3Dfptb-tyc8&w=303&h=450&imgurl=cache2.allpostersimages.com%2FLRG%2F8%2F852%2FB5SY000Z.jpg&rurl=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.allposters.com%2F-sp%2FVisit-Cuba-Posters_i382242_.htm&size=56KB&name=Visit+Cuba+Poste...&p=pan+american+airline+posters&oid=169cc2406dada1ea403378503dab83bf&fr2=&no=92&tt=341&b=91&ni=18&sigr=11taprdg8&sigi=11i0mgg9p&sigb=145lqmnsi&.crumb=3mfNOvCTZk2

Thanks much

You are correct about "Andalus" not showing up in Photoshop and I have CS5 on Windows 7. How very odd.

I would rather be Politically Incorrect,
Then have Politically Correct-Incorrectness!!!
