First, humane disclaimer statement,
If feel like you say, Go to ER and see physician!
Next is personal opinion on this and all previous related simular threads.
There being two possible scenario I see before...
Next thing happens is we get post from newly joined person claiming to be relative.
They say have passed away and now deceased, but wanting to inform all friends at Rendo he held in such high esteem.
maybe even having memorial webpage someplaces, depending on effort put into plan.
Other scenario...
Person actually think forum peoples are friend to telling life problem to.
Collectively, they are not.
People here are very nice for most part, because of sensitivity associated with creating arts.
To have friend, you must seek other place besides computer forum and I know people have suggested alteranate methods, which you should undertakes starting now.
Now is end of opinion.
I don't care about response because I look no more at these threads, having wear out patience with this and other things.
Whilst not qualified to give you a medical diagnoses , I had my first heart attack at 28 and my third heart bypass at 47.
During my first heart attack they told in hospital they could not see any problems.
I am not trying to alarm you, however some times X-rays do not see the whole picture.
Angiograms do see the whole picture but they are invasive.
Lets hope it is indigestion, however if you get pain down the arms in the Jaw or you are feeling sick, see a Doctor ASAP , do not worry about time waisting it is your life , not the doctors.
Let me know hoe you get on.
Suden pain is always worrying.
It is possible that you have pulled a muscle in your chest. It really hurts and takes a while to heal. If you did some heavy lifting, or had a fall its more likely. A heart attack may not show classic symptoms so if you go to the Doctors get them to do an EKG to check. It could also be an infection or a digestion problem.
Let us know how it turns out.

You should call your work , and let them know you will be off work for a day or two, and are going to Doctors.
Let us know how it turns out.
josterD:
"Is it ok to take day off work if you Have Chest pain?"
How long will you have to take off if you die? You cannot be adequately assessed over the InterNet. You should see a doctor today.
I hope you will find that there is nothing seriously wrong.

I had such pains one Sunday morning, but they went away after a few hours. They came back again the following moring, so after a few hours I reluctantly checked in at the ER and they told me I was having a heart attack. Within an hour I was having a stint implanted, and later told I damaged over 30% of my heart muscle because I waited so long to get treatment.

Yup it happens, thank you for telling us about it.
I hope you can still live a reasonable life. I feel much compassion for you.
From my point of view I never had more than 10% heart damage still swim and walk and take on new projects! the great joy for me is to be part of this great family of Renderosity.
The family has helped me to put together animations for an Indian charity and I thank you all.
Ok I'm back. Just now( 8+ hours later) the pain is kindof gone. I went to the Cardiologist
cause i knew the ER or the regular dr would not even help. Well they cheked with EKG and said nothing was that really abnormal except for alittle bit of ..i dont know what he said but he said something was a Bit off. But apparently that meant it was still ok.
But then, he said maybe it's not the heart but i may have some lung problem. But he also wanted to check some condition i have that may have something to do with the chest pains i have and said to come back when have money for those expensive checkups( CAT scan, etc)
well the guy tried his best, but my pain is just rare so they can't really tell me much. He said to take advil/tylenol for pain.
All the silly answers aside, chest pain of any sort is nothing to trifle with. There is this thing people do: "let me just ask my friends if I don't feel right". This may not be a good idea, based on the responses you got here. It is impossible for anyone to give you advice over the phone or via a forum. At best, you're going to get smart remarks or stories about similar experiences.
You've gone to the ED. Good. You've been seen by a doctor. Also good.
I worked in the cath lab for 25 years: we did angiogrammes, stenting, electrophysiology studies, etc. A plane-film chest x-ray will show absolutely nothing about the state of your coronary arteries (unless they are heavily calcified). It's not considered a diagnostic tool for determining whether you have coronary artery disease (although it might show a cardiomegaly, but typically, you wouldn't be presenting with chest pain).
If they suspected a heart attack, the ED people would hook you up to an EKG machine and record a 12-lead (helpful if you're still having pain), draw some blood and do some blood enzyme tests.
Consider this: if you are male, a smoker, over-weight, diabetic (or pre-diabetic), anywhere from 25 to 55 years of age, have high cholesterol (and your LDLs are higher than your HDLs) and you have high lipids, and if you have a family history of heart disease, you have increased risk factors for heart disease.
The only recommendation I can make is this: if you are not allergic to aspirin, keep some handy. If you start getting chest pain, pop one under your tongue and get yourself seen by a specialist pronto. Aspirin has a powerful anti-platelet coagulation effect and putting one under the tongue has the effect of sending the medicine straight to where it's needed: the heart. It's the first-line med given out in the field (away from the hospital) by the medics to a suspected heart-attack victim. That, and oxygen.

I am glad that you visited the Cardiologist.
I am sorry that you need to delay your check up for your financial circumstances.
In the UK I have never had to pay for my treatment .
Thank God for our National Health Service.
This not being smug just pointing out the difference in care.

The difference being that we get diagnosed and then have to wait months for treatment or an available hospital bed.
Unless we have B.U.P.A medical insurance cover of course, in which case we get treated every bit as fast as our American friends are accustomed to.

Maybe he had to wait so long because everybody was busy working on you!

You went to a cardiologist?! Where do you live that you can just walk into a cardiologists office and see a cardiologist?!
Here you can't just walk into a caridiologists office and see a doctor. A family doctor needs to send a consult to the cardiologist.
From what you describe, it's unlikely a heart problem. Sounds like you could have plurisy or some pneumonia going on. Go to see your family doctor and have a chest xray done. S/he will likely put you on antibiotics.
