Trying to simulate fur underwater.  It is sleek, but floats as well. This is not very close.

Okay, now includes Phil's underwater lighting.  Thanks Phil.

I am having a hard time getting the fur not to let the new light through.  I tried excluding light influence to the fur, but it didn't work.  I don't want to see the body through the fur with the new lighting.

I like what you have done so far. Great stuff.

Thanks Analog.  I tried the lights in another scene, one I put together some time ago.   Again I have the issue with light illuminating the body and passing through the hair.  I can fix it after the fact in post, but I'd like not to see the outline of the body underneath the seal.

Can anyone shed some light on this issue?  Maybe I wasn't explaining it well.  The hair/fur under the seal's body is letting too much light through.  I can see the model's body through the hair.  It needs to be darker...

Suggestions on how to achieve this appreciated.

You are doing a great job and I hope you get your help.  I am looking forward to seeing the final scene.  Did you model the trout, otter, and seal in Carrara?

Thanks - love the snowleopard.  I need to get back on that render and try some other variables.  I modeled the salmon and beaver, but the seal is Daz with fur.

Happy New Year!

Thanks, at least I got the seal right.  I guess I will not be hosting Mutual of Omaha's Wild Kingdom anytime soon. Happy New Year to you and everyone else too.

Not sure what your stuff is setup for.

1.)  Is your fur transparent or translucent?  If so, see if you can dial it down a tad.

2.)  Add more hair?

3.)  Is the light casting full shadows or is the shadow intensity turned down from 100%?  This is my first guess.
