Subject: OT: So how much CONTENT did you buy in 2010???

josterD ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 1:17 AM · edited Mon, 25 November 2024 at 12:42 PM

I got 32 items from one site and some more from renderosity.

Total would be like: 525 dollars. I kind of regret it though

josterD ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 1:21 AM

Actually my total with the stuff bought at renderosity would be like 1000. wow

I probably spent maybe $20.00 all together for 2010.  It's been a really dry year for me in terms of purchasing 3D content.  I guess the unexpected purchase of a computer pretty much took away any spending money that I would have used to purchase things that I want.

Money spent in 2010 almost entirely went to business related purchases.

cspear ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 5:17 AM

I have spent far, far too much: $500 here, probably the same at DAZ and maybe $200 at Content Paradise.

I have to say that what I have bought - with one or two exceptions - has been really high quality and excellent value.

And I forgot about RDNA... had a few splurges there too!

Spent about $1,000 so far this year on Vue, modo, and Poser content/utils/training vids.  Probably $300 of it on content.  And $100 of that spent here at Rendo.

aeilkema ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 7:10 AM

Around $50, maybe less, the only things I bought were items I did create additional content for. I also already know what I will spent next year on content...... $0.00!!

Artwork and 3DToons items, create the perfect place for you toon and other figures!

Due to the childish TOS changes, I'm not allowed to link to my other products outside of Rendo anymore :(

Food for thought.....

My total this year was $0 .  I have a lot of stuff that I bought earlier and have never used. I now exist on what I have and any freestuff I can get , or I open my modeller and make stuff.

Way too much.

Way way to much. But it's still Novemeber. So I have another month to add another "way" to that statement :)

Too much

I prefer DAZ and RDNA contents but i have bought too at Renderosity and Smith micro

With all specials this month i have a big account on my credit card

I intend to slow it but i am not sure i will do it with success

basicwiz ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 12:28 PM

$744 here, $214 at Daz and about $300 to individual modelers for custom jobs.

Money well spent, as my interest in modeling is a negative number.

Winterclaw ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 1:05 PM

Not as much this year as last year.  There just weren't the items to interest me and I took a break from poser for a few months.

WARK!

Too much, but I think it was less than last year. The PC-Celebration-Month at DAZ hit my wallet hard :-)

I don't even want to look, more then I normally would definately.  If I look I'll probably start crying or something LOL!!  I  can say that everything that I purchased I will definately use :)  Kudos to the makers from all of the stores for making me pry open my pocketbook so many times this year...I'm very, very picky.

No regrets :)

SamTherapy ( ) posted Sat, 27 November 2010 at 10:59 PM

This past year I've bought less than ever.  I'm not sure how much and I can't be bothered to total it up.  These days I only use store credit to buy things, since I have no other spare cash.

Over the years I have spent a horrifying amount - literally thousands - on stuff.

Content? Not a lot. Very little compared to before. Model, rig and morph most of my own stuff now.

Now don't ask about software or computer parts.

MagnusGreel ( ) posted Sun, 28 November 2010 at 5:15 PM

spent more on my games than on poser..

picked up Dogfighter a few days ago for $2.50... and yesterday Wings of Prey for $14.99... god I love Steam....

I think I spent less than $50 at all the big sites. I've been modeling, and the more of that I do, the less I find I need to buy. Since I've been texturing for years, it's been a win-win situation ;o).

Mogwa ( ) posted Wed, 01 December 2010 at 1:59 PM

I only purchased three. Two from Rendo and on from an independent vendor.

I don't know about the rest of you, but my discretionary "mad money" funds seem to be shrinking steadily. I haven't had a a raise in three years, but our cost of living expenses keep right on increasing.

And if the Fed monetizes the budget, we're all in for an interesting ride. You'll need a truckload of money to buy a loaf of bread.

Cage ( ) posted Wed, 01 December 2010 at 3:51 PM

I bought some hair and one figure, and some utility applications.  I've used the utilities extensively, but I still haven't gotten around to even loading the figure or hair into Poser.

Cage can be an opinionated jerk who posts without thinking.  He apologizes for this.  He's honestly not trying to be a turkeyhead.

Cage had some freebies, compatible with Poser 11 and below.  His Python scripts were saved at archive.org, along with the rest of the Morphography site, where they were hosted.

A_Sunbeam ( ) posted Thu, 02 December 2010 at 12:16 PM

More than I thought I would ...

It's all the special offers ..., the sales ..., the beautiful morphs ...

Just had a look in the V4/A4 morphs: 87 items; A3: 30 items ...

I think I'll go and have a quiet lie down.

Meh, My budget for Poser is around $200.

Per month.

Ahh, the joys of being single.

I will be cutting back next year, but probably my not that much.  this is the only extensive hobby I have & with the work I am doing where I work, I may be able to get them to purchase me some goodies.
