Poser - OFFICIAL F.A.Q (Last Updated: 2024 Nov 13 11:02 am)
I sometimes take hair density to 20000. I think it depends on the poly count of the skullcap mesh. Take it up really high if your computer can handle it. Increasing the root width makes the hair look denser. Root width of 1.5 and tip width of .4 works nicely for me. Don't be afraid to use a scalp texture that tones with the hair.
Set the hair node to be opaque in shadow in the material room.
You don't have to use a skullcap - you can grow the hair directly on the head or any other part of the body.

Auxiliary Apps: Blender 2.79, Vue Complete 2016, Genetica 4 Pro, Gliftex 11 Pro, CorelDraw Suite X6, Comic Life 2, Project Dogwaffle Howler 8, Stitch Witch
After growing the hair, make the scullcap invisible.
It will not render, and the hair will stand on the head.
Or, if you need it, you can texture the scullcap to your liking, using tranparancy on the edges if needed.
yes, you can grow hair directly on the head (or anywhere else) but will have to create a hairgroup first using the Group editor.

Hello. I have not used Poser since the hair lab induction, and I have some books but I am still having trouble creating mid-face length hair styles. The scalp keeps showing through. I have tried multiple hair layers, increased hair density to 1,100, and verts to 100, used render in opaque in the materials lab, and pull over techniques to try to cover the scalp, but it is ubiquitous. What settings are recommended for good scalp coverage first? Second, is the skullcap an object I need to place down first, and if so, where do I find such?
Thanks!
